Monique Libby Interiors Designing spaces should be exciting, not overwhelming—that’s where I come in. I believe great design should feel effortless.

I create interiors that are inviting, inspiring, and as unique as the people who live and work in them. Co-founding JRML over three decades ago gave me the foundation to master every aspect of the design process—from conceptual development and material selection to procurement and project coordination. Today, under my new brand, Monique Libby Interiors, I continue to craft interiors that seamlessly blend function, beauty, and personality. My passion for design began in childhood, influenced by my grandmother’s artistry, my mother’s creative spirit, and my own early explorations in fine arts, fashion, and architecture. With years of experience in residential and commercial interiors, I bring a refined yet approachable touch to every project. Whether transforming a home, refreshing a single room, or rebranding a business interior, my process is collaborative, detail-driven, and refreshingly stress-free. I specialize in space planning, color consultation, material specifications, and sourcing unique furnishings that elevate everyday living and working. Let’s create a space that’s not just beautiful—but a true reflection of you.

A day in the life with Monique ✨

The best part was seeing my son , a project manager, on the same job site!!

Job sites. Material selections. Client meetings. Sketches. Details, decisions & lots of creativity.

And when the workday winds down… a little sunset yoga to reset. 🌅🧘‍♀️

Because great design is about more than beautiful spaces—it’s about curiosity, connection, creativity, and finding inspiration in everyday life.

A little glimpse into my week ✨

From construction sites and tile selections to exploring door & cabinet showrooms—and a little personal time in between.

And because inspiration doesn’t only happen in the studio, I also made time for an art event at MOCA. 🎨 and a jazz concert at Sandler Center.

Design is everywhere—on the job site, in the showroom, in a beautiful material, and sometimes just in taking a moment to look around.

Just a few things that made up my week. 🤍

August, in a nutshell. ✨

A little look at life behind the scenes—from job sites and installations to floor plans, sketches, details, selections, and the many decisions that bring a design to life. And, of course, a little personal fun along the way. 🤍

Because design life is never just one thing—it’s creating, problem-solving, sourcing, collaborating, and enjoying the journey.

A little peek behind the scenes… ✨

The nursery is starting to come to life! The wallcovering is in, the molding is taking shape, and the built-in bookcases are installed and ready to be filled with all the sweetest little treasures.

And if you’re wondering about the color palette… well, can you tell it’s a GIRL?! 🎀

There’s still more to come, but I’m loving watching this special space transform from a design concept into a beautiful room ready to welcome a new little one. 🤍

JULY, THROUGH MY LENS.

Design doesn’t happen in a vacuum. The places we go, the people we spend time with, the things we notice along the way — they all find their way into how we see and create.

July was a little bit of everything.

Time in the studio.
Projects taking shape.
New discoveries and inspiration.
Good food, good people, summer days, and a little time to simply enjoy life.

A month of work, creativity, connection and the everyday moments that make it all worthwhile.

Here’s a glimpse of July, both in and out of the studio.

One of my favorite parts of being an interior designer is discovering products that truly elevate a home or business.

This week I previewed an exciting new carpet collection with the manufacturer’s representative in the studio!

We spent time reviewing textures, patterns, construction, and the custom details that make a difference in how a space looks—and how it lives.

I can’t wait to begin incorporating these beautiful new options into upcoming client projects. Soft underfoot, timeless in design, and full of possibilities.

Because selecting finishes isn’t just about choosing what’s beautiful—it’s about creating a home that feels uniquely yours.

Which style would you choose? Let me know your favorite in the comments.

✨ Some design traditions never go out of style!

Today my student intern and I went old school, creating a hand-curated inspiration board for one of our clients. There’s something special about flipping through magazines, tearing, pinning up, and watching a vision come to life.

While digital inspos are part of today’s design process, there’s still magic in creating a physical board. It sparks creativity, encourages collaboration, and helps clients truly experience the story behind their future space.

I’m also passionate about mentoring the next generation of designers, sharing not only design principles but also the hands-on techniques that have stood the test of time.

Sometimes the best ideas start with scissors, samples, and a little imagination. 🎨✨

What do you prefer—digital mood boards or the classic inspiration board?
