This piece has me questioning everything. I set out to try something completely different. Just a desire to play, experiment, and follow my creativity wherever it wanted to go and then… that voice showed up.
What have you done! Maybe I should sand it all off and start new! Is this really my style?
Bright colors, whimsical florals, layers of movement, and a whole lot of intuition. It’s far from perfect, and right now I’m struggling to see it clearly because I’m too close to it. Better yet, I’m not trusting the process even when I’m not sure where it’s going. It might take a while but for now, I’m choosing to keep going instead of giving up on it.
I’d love to know… when you try something new, do you immediately love it, or do you go through the “what have I done?” phase too?

Had a fun creative session in the studio yesterday with my friend Kelly. I introduced her to paint pouring… and apparently she’s been holding out on us because this was her very first pour and I’d say she absolutely nailed it. Don’t you think?

One of the things I love most about paint pouring is that moment when you stop trying to control the paint and just let it do its thing. Every piece is a surprise, and no two are ever the same. It’s a little messy but so much fun! Now I’ve got the itch to start pouring again

Just pure craftsmanship, patience, and somebody in the 1800s saying: “Yeah… I can make a screw out of wood.” Honestly, antique furniture makers were built different And this right here is why old furniture has soul. All the hidden details crafted by hand. It just amazes me.

This honestly stopped me in my tracks while shopping for art supplies yesterday. I literally stared at it trying to figure out if there is a hidden subject matter and $84.99 to boot. 😳 art is subjective right? But this one honestly made me wonder “Did they forget to finish it?” Art is supposed to make you feel something right, even if that feeling is mild confusion and the urge to grab a paintbrush.🤣 thoughts?

So incredibly grateful that someone loves this as much as I do to put it in her home. This one is at the very top of my favorite list and I will miss it seeing it because it made me smile Everytime I looked at it.
