**Awkward ceilings, tricky niches, and columns everywhere. Where do you begin?**

That was the challenge when these clients reached out to me this summer. Their basement renovation had reached the drywall stage, but they needed a plan to bring it all together.

With a treasured sports memorabilia collection tucked away in boxes, LEGO creations the children wanted to preserve, and a family of five needing room to gather—with a future bar area in mind—there was a lot to consider!

**This is where thoughtful planning and a little design ingenuity make all the difference.**

These photos show the basement as I first encountered it, along with my preliminary plans to turn those awkward spaces into purposeful areas for display and function.

The final reveal is just a few weeks away! I can't wait to show you how strategic planning, thoughtful color choices, and intentional placement can transform a challenging layout into a harmonious, beautifully designed space.

I love this part of the design process — when the vision begins to come to life and all the carefully chosen pieces find their place. Thank to for the beautiful window treatments!!

My client still has a few sentimental treasures to add, along with hanging that *fantastic print* that inspired the entire design. And how fun that they recently traveled to Venice! A little personal connection makes the story behind a room even more special.

The finishing touches are what make a house feel like home, and I can’t wait to see it all come together!

And last—but certainly not least—a little wallpaper magic in an unexpected place! ✨

This water closet is wrapped in York Wallcoverings Sprig & Heron, a beautiful nod to the prints found in the adjoining bath.

The result? A small space with a big visual impact.

I love using wallpaper in unexpected places. It gives these tucked-away rooms their own personality—and this one certainly doesn't disappoint!

Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige creates a beautiful neutral foundation for this focal wall featuring Phillip Jeffries Garden Grass in Cornsilk.

The subtle texture and organic feel of the grasscloth create a harmonious backdrop that makes this primary bedroom feel calm, warm and beautifully layered.

Proof that wallpaper doesn't always have to make a bold statement to make a big impact.

A Street Prints Getty Gray by Scott Living brings whimsical color and pattern to the laundry room, turning an everyday space into one that makes you smile.

For this office, Stout's Sadie Sandalwood was the perfect choice.

Paired with a traditional executive desk and equine artwork, the wallpaper creates a warm, sophisticated backdrop that feels timeless rather than trendy.

Sometimes the right wallpaper doesn't compete with a room—it completes it.

Benjamin Moore Pale Oak sets the perfect backdrop for these focal walls featuring Stout's Cindy Dresden Navy wallpaper.

The rich navy pattern, caramel accents and warm gold fixtures come together beautifully—creating a space that feels sophisticated, collected and inviting.

First impressions matter. And this one got a whole lot more interesting. ✨

The foyer and adjoining secondary bath went from simple to stunning with York Wallcoverings Butterfly Garden in black.

The black detailing beautifully echoes the existing batten board and pairs perfectly with Benjamin Moore’s Indian River, creating a layered, sophisticated look with just the right touch of whimsy.

A perfect example of how wallpaper can elevate even the spaces you pass through every day.
