Some mornings are just made for this...

Fresh-baked sourdough, hands full of flowers, good people around the table. I’m so excited to be collaborating with Nat from Nat’s Bread for our BLOOMS & BREAD workshop!

We’ll bake together, I’ll walk you through arranging with the best of our seasonal blooms, and we’ll sit down for brunch together. You’ll leave with a loaf you made, a starter to keep it going, and a bouquet that makes your kitchen happy.

If you want BIG color with almost no work, plant a hardy hibiscus. 🌺
This is the low maintenance perennial that gives you those dinner-plate blooms in late summer when everything else is starting to fade. And yes - it's a true perennial here in 6b. It dies back in winter and comes back bigger every year.
Why I love it for our area:
• Loves full sun and our summer heat
• Hardy to zone 4, so 6b is easy for it
• Huge blooms, pollinators love it, deer usually leave it alone
• Just give it space (3-4 ft wide), water the first year, and cut back to 4-6" in late winter
It's not the tropical one you have to bring inside. This one stays in the ground and just does its thing. Perfect if you want that cottage-garden, stop-you-in-your-tracks color.
