I’m so excited to have a space I don’t have to crawl through bushes to get access to. We plan on building an extended roof area where we can put things that need to be out of the weather. I’ve also ordered a couple of small shelves to hold the smaller items! If any of my farmer/garden friends have suggestions let me know!

Soil testing is SOOOOO time consuming!!! However… I absolutely adore spending rainy days in the greenhouse with our first germinated flowers, playing with test tubes and pipettes. Feeling like Drew (smart agriculture science teacher) would be so proud of me setting aside the time to research and develop unique plans for each beds soil health. This year is about developing from seed perennials, soil health and having on POINT timing!!! So pumped 🤪😊

1:42 pm
The sun is just starting to peak past the trees that hug the property. Feelings of anger, fear, sadness and distress seep in through the shadows. Staring down at the soil that I moved to create new beds, I think to myself is this right? Am I making a difference, how can I do better, how do I help others who might need it, will my community be okay? I go through the motions and try to find the self motivation to have another successful year of farming and yet those questions swirl in the back of my mind. As the time comes to promote our 2026 CSA there will be some differences, discounts and donation opportunities to impact our community. The sun that was peaking past the trees will shine again soon, be the sun for people who need brightness in their lives.

We have been enjoying our time off and away from the farm. This time of the year you can find us huddled up watching scary movies and drinking mass amounts of tea. Looking at 10 different notebooks where we left notes to our future selves about what went wrong in the previous season or what we’d like to try differently next year. Figuring out the puzzle of crop planning and deciding which crops will like this area of the farm and which crops the deers are least likely to eat. Thinking about how we should pivot to be more successful in our ventures and what steps to get there. We will have exciting news of our 2026 CSA and where our business will be heading down the road. Love you all, we hope your holidays were warm and spent eating delicious hearty meals 💚🌱

Farm shenanigans
Daniel and I stayed up late last night arranging until 11:30. This first year has been such a learning experience and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity and space to work through the kinks of the farm. I have been working on next years crop plans as well as W**D PREVENTION! Which is veryyy exciting. I might have gone down a snapdragon rabbit hole, permanent raised bed Pinterest boards and testing the waters of overwintering eucalyptus! As the season slows it allows time for reflective thoughts to seep in and plans, ideas and projects for next year to take hold. I’m feeling so optimistic for the future and blessed I’ve only had one day of second guessing my career choice haha. Love you all, thank you for the support 💚🌱
