Green Educator Newsletter
Hi! Thank you for being a part of the Green Educator program at The Depot. We love being able to support you and your students in providing materials for your classroom, and we are working on doing even more in collaboration with you. We’ve got some exciting new things coming up that we hope you’ll join us for and value your input on expanding even more.
Teacher Workshops
We are beginning to offer regular workshops specifically for educators, focusing on content and reused materials that can be used in the classroom. We have two workshops coming up in the next couple months that we hope you'll sign up for! Check them out below and pass them on to your teacher friends and colleagues, as well:

Field Trips
The Depot is a great place to bring your class on a field trip to learn about sustainability/reuse and flex those creativity muscles! We’d love to have you come visit us, and are creating a more formalized process so that we can best serve you and also keep things calm and organized in the shop.
So, we are offering limited field trip time slots on Mondays and Tuesdays when the shop is not normally open. It will be specially available for classes to come in and get a guided tour of The Depot, learn about our mission, create art with recycled materials, and bring their knowledge back to the classroom and their homes. We love giving kids the opportunity to learn, create, and spread the word!
A few guidelines for field trips:
* Field trips must be requested via this form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScM3hRq2tKOD29XAVGOs0aA6BExygYSxOPxUizdtYmsBLqRWA/viewform?usp=header) and approved by the Green Educator Program Manager, Sara Levine, at least one week in advance. You can also email her at [email protected]
* We can only accommodate student groups on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:30-12:00pm or 12:30-3:00pm.
* We can only have one class at a time per field trip sign-up
* For Pre-K-2nd grade we require a minimum of 1 adult supervisor per every 5 students, for 3rd-8th grade we require a minimum of 1 adult supervisor per every 8 students, and for High School we require a minimum of 1 adult for every 10 students.
