When you can't find something pre-made, you figure out how to do it yourself. 😁
You know those little strings of LED lights with the tiny battery pack you can get on Temu? They're awesome, but the wires are fragile and the button part is an awkward shape. So I had a couple of items that just had wires trailing and ended up breaking, making the lights useless.
I did a search for display bases with a place for lights, but all of them were for different types of light strips and/or the recesses were too shallow. Out of frustration, I went thru all my molds to see what I could do with them.
Hence, I ended up with a jar lid and a little tealight holder. Took advantage of the fact that the lid had the quadrant bracing to do an "earth, air, fire, water" coloring in each section and had the first clear level up to just over the walls. Let that cure, then put the opaque color in and made the recess out of the tealight mold turned inside out.
It works great! It's going to be the perfect size to hold the skull on top and the wires and battery pack will be hidden, but still accessible to change out batteries in the future. 😍 It's not shiny since I technically used the outside of the mold to pour into, but that's what the buffing wheel is for when I finish it.
Sometimes you just have to think outside the box. 😄
