I’ve had several requests for special orders lately with people preparing for the holidays. Here’s an example from a corporate client that requested a charcuterie board that includes their company logo.

This board is made from live edge elm measuring 11”x 36” and features decorative handles and rubber feet.

A multi-step sanding process was followed by the logo being laser engraved on the board, then treated with thermally processed walnut oil and a finish with my wood conditioning wax made from walnut oil and carnauba wax.

Wood sourced from Kettle Moraine Hardwoods

The board pictured is another example of how things don’t go to waste in the shop. This board is made from walnut and features some nice sap wood along the outer live edges. The interesting thing about this board is that it was created with scrap pieces in my cut off bin, which is why I refuse to call it a scrap bin because you can still make beautiful pieces with the cut offs you find.

A multi-step sanding process was followed by treatment with thermally processed walnut oil, then a finish of my wood conditioning wax made from walnut oil and carnauba wax was applied.

We’re still deciding which handles to attach, which is why you see pictures of the same board with different handles.

Here’s a rounded rectangle 5-pocket tray made from spalted walnut. The tray measures 12” x 16” and includes rubber feet.

The tray started as a glue up of several pieces of solid walnut (just like you would for a cutting board), then I used a router template that I was able to get from Statedwoods Supply. I removed a majority of the inner pocket material with a forstner bit on my drill press, then used a bowl/tray router bit that was sourced from Woodpeckers to route out the pockets.

After routing was complete, everything was sanded smooth, then treated with thermally processed walnut oil and a finish with my wood conditioning wax made from walnut oil and carnauba wax.

This tray will be available for sale in booth 10 at Brown Street Emporium located in Oconomowoc, WI or you can DM me or send an email to [email protected] if interested.

Pictured is a 3-pocket swirl hardwood tray made from walnut. The tray measures 15” in diameter and is almost 2” high with the rubber feet.

The tray started just like any other edge grain cutting board by gluing several strips of ash and walnut. Once the glue dried, the board was flattened and sanded smooth. It is at this point we used a Crafted Elements router tray template. To get the shape and the interior pockets routed, we used router bits sourced from Woodpeckers.

After routing was complete, everything was sanded smooth and treated with thermally processed walnut oil and a finish with my wood conditioning wax made from walnut oil and carnauba wax.

This tray will be available for sale in booth 10 at Brown Street Emporium located in Oconomowoc, WI or you can DM me or send an email to [email protected] if interested.

Here’s a 2-pocket rectangular tray made from spalted maple. The tray measures 12” x 18” and includes rubber feet.

The tray started as a solid piece of spalted maple, then I used a custom made router template that I was able to get from Statedwoods Supply. Nick and Landon at Statedwoods was very helpful and provided lighting fast service and shipping! I used a bowl/tray router bit that was sourced from Woodpeckers.

After routing was complete, everything was sanded smooth, but not too much to keep some of the natural character, then treated with thermally processed walnut oil and a finish with my wood conditioning wax made from walnut oil and carnauba wax.

This tray is available for sale in booth 10 at Brown Street Emporium located in Oconomowoc, WI or you can DM me or send an email to [email protected] if interested.
