📖 Little Trinkets of Wisdom: The Friendship Audit
Today’s conversation with my youngest daughter really hit home. We were talking about the word "friend" and how loosely it gets tossed around these days.
I told her: if someone has never held you accountable, or if they aren't the person you think of when your back is against the wall, they aren't a friend—they’re an acquaintance.
It’s easy to want the "ride or die" loyalty from others, but how often do we strive to be that friend ourselves? True friendship isn't just about who shows up for the party; it’s about who stays in the trenches.
Proverbs 18:24 reminds us:
"There are ‘friends’ who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother."
Today is all about a healthy dose of a self-check. Let’s look at our circles, but more importantly, let’s look at our own hearts. Are you the kind of friend you’re looking for?
