Your front porch is the first hello your home gives — and fall is its moment to shine.
A welcoming entry doesn't need to be complicated. A few pumpkins in different sizes, mums in terracotta pots, a layered doormat and a lantern or two can carry you from October straight through Thanksgiving.
My rule: group in odd numbers, vary the heights, and keep the walkway clear. It should feel abundant, not crowded.
And here's the designer secret — style it for the evening, too. When the lanterns glow at dusk, that's when the magic happens, whether it's trick-or-treaters or friends coming for dinner.

Swan Kitchen — Seasonal Styling Without the Clichés
This is exactly what I mean when I say seasonal decorating doesn't have to scream the season.
Instead of covering the kitchen in bright orange pumpkins and traditional fall decorations, I'd rather build a beautiful little story.
A sculptural ivory swan becomes the unexpected centerpiece. Around it, we can layer aubergine, cocoa, muted olive, caramel and ivory with aged metals, amber glass and natural branches.
There are pumpkins here—but they're supporting characters, not the entire production.
And I especially love bringing in one unusual piece like the swan. Those are the objects that give a home personality and make someone stop and look twice.
Your seasonal decor should work with the home you already love—not temporarily replace it.
That's the difference between decorating for a holiday and styling a home for a season.
Would you use a statement piece like this swan in your kitchen?

Color Palette — Goodbye, Safe Beige
Brown is back—but not the brown you remember.
The new palette is deeper, moodier and much more sophisticated.
Espresso. Cocoa. Caramel. Ivory. Stone. Olive. Aubergine. Antique gold.
What makes these colors so beautiful together is balance.
Dark espresso becomes richer beside ivory. Aubergine gives earthy browns a little drama. Olive adds an organic note. Caramel warms everything up. And stone gives your eye somewhere to rest.
You don't need all eight colors in one room, either. I might begin with three or four and repeat them in different materials and textures throughout the space.
That repetition is what makes a room feel intentional instead of simply "decorated."
And please don't be afraid of darker colors. A little contrast can make your lighter pieces look even more beautiful.
Which one are you most surprised to see coming back—brown, olive or aubergine?

Fall & Winter 2027 — Warm Spaces, Meaningful Details
If you've been waiting for interiors to feel warm and personal again, you're going to love where design is heading.
We're moving away from cold, overly perfect spaces and bringing back rooms with depth, color, texture and personality.
For Fall & Winter 2027, I'm loving cocoa and espresso browns, creamy ivory, aubergine, burgundy and earthy greens layered with natural stone, warm woods and collected accessories.
But here's the important part:
A trend should inspire your home—not take it over.
I never want someone to walk into your house and know exactly which decorating trend you followed. I want them to walk in and think, This feels like you.
That's where good design begins.
Warm spaces. Meaningful details. Seasonless style.

Who says a laundry room has to feel like a laundry room?
This space had wonderful ceiling height, but it wasn't taking advantage of it. For this concept, I wanted to show what happens when we stop decorating around what's already there and ask, "How could this space work better?"
Closing an unused doorway created a floor-to-ceiling canvas for a dramatic pelican mural — and gave the room on the other side a brand-new wall, too. A bold round window draws the eye upward, a stacked washer and dryer frees up floor space, and streamlined black cabinetry with brushed gold hardware keeps everything warm and uncluttered.
Even the budget can be thoughtful: older appliances and fixtures can be sold or repurposed to help offset improvements.

A girl's room doesn't have to be pink.
Pink can be beautiful, but we often choose it simply because it's what we've always done. One color I think is incredibly overlooked is soft orange — muted apricot, soft peach, dusty terracotta, a warm creamsicle tone.
These softer oranges bring warmth, optimism and creativity without overstimulating. Cheerful enough for playing and reading, yet restful when it's time to settle down.
I love pairing soft orange with warm whites, natural wood, woven textures and touches of sage. Suddenly the room feels youthful and beautiful — and sophisticated enough to grow with her.
What unexpected color would you consider for a girl's bedroom?

This foyer already had beautiful architectural features — the arched transom and decorative glass entry doors. My goal wasn't to take away its character, but to give those details a fresh, more intentional setting.
We moved to a lighter, more sophisticated palette: soft white walls with contrasting gray trim carried onto the doors, updated gray flooring, and a runner that draws your eye through the space. The black geometric light fixture adds just enough drama, and a slim console, warm metallic accents, greenery and a mirror finish the entry without crowding it.
The result feels brighter, more current and much more welcoming — and that matters, because your entryway is the first introduction to your home.

Some spaces just need a little imagination. This lanai needed a whole vision.
I saw so much more than an empty screened porch — I saw a true extension of the home, beautiful in the Florida sunshine and just as inviting after the sun goes down.
We created a comfortable conversation area with woven outdoor furnishings, soft neutral upholstery and touches of green that connect the room to the landscape beyond the screens. The oversized round botanical artwork gives that large wall the scale it needed, and the water feature adds peaceful sound and movement.
By day it's bright and airy; by evening, lanterns and accent lighting make it warm and intimate.
That's thoughtful design: not just how a room looks, but how you live in it.
