Amy Bourgeois Designs Texas artist creating one-of-a-kind custom artwork. Using this skillset God gave me to glorify Him.

As a little girl my mother and grandmother supported my creative streak by providing oodles and oodles supplies: scrap fabric, needles, thread, SCISSORS, paper of all kinds, paints..... I never once remember getting reprimanded for making a mess with one of my ever changing "projects." That support and encouragement followed me into adulthood and the things I learned along the way now allow me to work from home doing what I love!!

I quietly set a goal for this summer.

And I entered the State Fair of Texas Creative Arts competition with one goal: to have just one of four pieces place.

Of course, I was really hoping for a blue ribbon. Because a blue ribbon from the Texas State Fair??? That’d be pretty cool, right?

Today I found out that not only did one piece place but I received FOUR ribbons:

💙 First place — Handmade Nativity Scene
❤️ Second place — Painted/Embellished Objects
🤍 Third place — Polymer/Air-Dry Clay
💛 Honorable Mention — Altered Thrift Store Painting

A blue, a red, a white and a yellow. The whole set!
🤣❤️🤣❤️

If you own one of my Wisemen Okra ornament sets you can now say that a similar piece won a BLUE ribbon in the Texas State Fair!

I’m feeling incredibly grateful, proud and maybe a little stunned. It was so fun to see them displayed at the State Fair of Texas! 🎨 Now I’m inspired! New goal of a PURPLE RIBBON???

I was floored when I received this picture in a text last night! Sara drew out a plan and had her husband build this manger to display her wisemen! She’d bought the small nativity set last year and put them all together like this! Precious! I love receiving pictures and being tagged in how all of you are using your ornaments. Custom painted pieces or clay creations, so grateful for your love and support!
