π Watkins Homestyle Beef & Noodles π
Featuring Watkins Beef Base, Spices & Seasonings
Serves: 6 | Prep Time: 15 min | Cook Time: 1.5 hours
Ingredients:
2 lbs beef stew meat or chuck roast (cut into 1" cubes)
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
4 cups water
1 tbsp Watkins Beef Base (adjust to taste)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Watkins Garlic Powder
1 tsp Watkins Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Watkins Thyme Leaves
1/2 tsp Watkins Coarse Ground Black Pepper (or to taste)
1/2 tsp Watkins Coarse Sea Salt (adjust to taste)
12 oz egg noodles (wide or homestyle)
2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
1 tsp Watkins Parsley Flakes (for garnish or stirring in)
Instructions:
Brown the Beef:
Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add beef and sear until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
Make the Broth:
In the same pot, add 4 cups water and stir in Watkins Beef Base until dissolved. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Watkins Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Thyme, Black Pepper, and Sea Salt.
Simmer the Beef:
Return beef to the pot. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 1 hour, or until beef is fork-tender and flavorful. Adding carrots and celery, optional.
Add the Noodles:
Stir in egg noodles and bring to a gentle boil. Cook uncovered for 8β10 minutes or until noodles are tender.
Thicken (Optional):
If a thicker gravy is desired, mix cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl, then stir into the pot. Simmer for an additional 3β5 minutes.
Finish & Serve:
Sprinkle in Watkins Parsley Flakes before serving. Spoon into bowls and enjoy with crusty bread or a side of roasted fall veggies.
