And, without a further ado… here is “the closet” 🤍

This closet took me twice as long to build as I tried to find a balance between working on projects, doing fun things with the family and rest, in the end it all got done and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

I started by taking out all the cheap wire shelving, patching the walls, removing the carpet and installing some left over floor I had that matched the rest of the house. Once I had a blank slate the designing and building process started. The goal was to create as much storage as possible using all the vertical space I could and make it pretty in the process. A fresh coat of in a semi gloss finish (for easy cleaning) and gold accessories finished off the space. Now is time to load it all up with all of my soon to be 13 years old favorite things 🙂

This door has gone through quite the journey. Once the foyer was “finished” I felt like the door blended into all the white a little too much. I’ve always wanted to have a wood tone door on the inside so I gave it a try with a techique using paint and gel stain, which didn’t turn out at all 😂

Decided to strip the whole door down to it’s original finish [that was a beast of a job] but with that came a clean slate and infinite possibilities.

Finally landed on bringing in the same blue paint from the dining room into the foyer and I couldn’t be happier with it. It creates consistency, makes the spaces flow together plus it looks fresh and happy, gives it some interest and the gold hardware shows so beautifully.

PS: I still want to change the door… one day😉

✨Clean white walls never go out of style!!! specially smooth finished walls 😆. I finally finished skim coating the upper walls in the foyer, and painted them by .

Painting the ceilings a traditional white also adds brightness to the space. Changed around some of the decor pieces and putting k***s to the console table added to the overall results and I couldn’t be happier with it.

I’m in my gargamel era… I will have all smooth walls …if it’s the last thing I even do!!! 😂

Welcome to the Blue Dining Room 🤍🩵 this space has evolved over the almost five years since we built this house. It went from studs and drywall to a transitional space that worked but it didn’t feel done.

Painting the awful gray ceiling white has done the biggest impact in making the space feel brighter and more open. Adding wall trim to assimilate the living room and foyer creates continuity as well as making the walls feel taller. Throw a coat of this soft blue paint on the upper wall, add a more dramatic chandelier and we have an elegant dining room that is still welcoming for daily use… add Christmas decor and it’s magical 🎄✨

*** None of the furniture was changed, the only changes were; wall trim, paint and chandelier.
