A big part of my heart

Grief doesn’t always show up loudly.

Sometimes it’s quiet.

It sits in the background of your day, in the moments when everything seems fine on the surface… but something inside you still feels unfinished. Like a conversation that was cut off too soon.

There’s a part of me that knows he’s gone.

Understands it logically. Accepts it in the way you learn to accept things you can’t change.

But there’s another part…

A quieter part… that hasn’t caught up yet.

The part that still expects to hear his voice. The part that thinks maybe, just maybe, this is all temporary. That somehow, things will go back to the way they were.

And that’s the part that hurts the most.

Because it’s the part that loved him without conditions, without endings, without ever imagining a world where he wouldn’t be here.

Healing doesn’t mean forgetting that feeling.

It just means learning how to carry it… without letting it break you.
