Simply Kara Leigh

We usually spend fall break in Gatlinburg, but this year we decided to stay home and save a little money! Sometimes slowing down and enjoying the simple things is just what we need. 🤎

Anyone else doing a staycation this year?

Soooo… apparently I’ve decided I need ALL the hobbies.

I started cleaning out my embarrassingly large ribbon stash because, at some point, a girl has to admit she may have bought entirely too much ribbon.

Then I looked over at my laser machine collecting dust and thought, I really need to start using that thing again.

THEN I pulled out my sewing machine the other day and remembered how much I LOVE sewing. Like… why did I ever stop?!

And naturally, instead of being satisfied with the approximately 47 things I already have going on, I’ve now caught myself eyeballing an embroidery machine. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Because apparently my brain works like this:
“Kara, you already have too much going on.”
Also Kara: “But what if we could add embroidery back into the game?”

I can’t help it. I love making things. I love coming up with an idea in my head and figuring out how to actually make it. Sometimes that idea turns into something great…and sometimes we just don’t talk about it again.

So, Simply Kara Leigh may be getting a little less “perfect business page” and a whole lot more me being me—creating, sewing, crafting, making a mess, changing my mind halfway through, probably starting three projects before finishing the first one, and taking you along for all of it.

Might as well make some Reels while I’m at it, right?

I may have officially lost it. But I think I like it here. 😂

Something new is coming!

One of my favorites is hydrangeas! Being able to dry them out and carry their beauty throughout the seasons makes me love them even more! 🤍

I started working on some of the unfinished projects we have around here. Granted, I’m the one who created most of those unfinished projects. But I made progress, and that made me happy.

I also got my Papaw’s to***co basket out of our building and finally brought it inside. I still need to adjust it a little, but I went with the screw that was already in the wall. I mean, let’s face it… that wall is coming down eventually. It’s just a matter of time.

A little progress, a little decorating, and a whole lot of “I’ll finish that later.” 🤍
