I like a good trend, and this one hit me right in the heart. 💫

When you’re two years old, your grandmother will put a paintbrush in your hand. It’s very important that you never put it down. 🎨

From that tiny hand holding a brush to the paintings I create today, every stroke has been a love letter to the magic that started it all. 💛

And yes… Stevie Nicks definitely had a hand in inspiring this one. ✨🖌️

I’m supposed to be studying for a huge test and getting ready for classes in January... but I just can’t stop! 🙈 Ever since my coworker gave me these art supplies for Christmas, I’ve been hooked.

There is something so therapeutic about this medium, it's definitely more fun than my textbooks right now! I promise I’ll get back to the books eventually, but for now, I’m just enjoying capturing these sweet faces.

A friend I work with surprised me this Christmas with some incredible new tools for my art table. She knows exactly what makes my creative heart happy! I was so inspired by the gift that I started on a portrait of her daughter right away.

Working with these has been a brand-new experience for me, and I’m definitely still getting a feel for the technique. But even while I was navigating the learning curve, I was so focused on capturing her daughter’s adorable personality. Baby Kate’s always smiling too!!

Earlier this week I teased y’all with a mysterious little tire from my art table… and not ONE person guessed what was fueling up behind the scenes.
Well, the pit crew can relax now — the surprise has officially crossed the finish line. 🚗💨✨

I finished painting Nolan’s Disney Cars–themed birthday banner for his big 2nd lap, and let me tell you: Radiator Springs showed OUT on this one. Lightning McQueen. Tow Mater. The whole dusty, magical, your-heart-melts-into-a-puddle vibe. I painted it stroke by stroke, and suddenly it was like the characters weren’t just on the banner… they were in it.

And then Nolan — sweet, tiny two-year-old Nolan — bent down, looked right at Lightning, and WAVED… like he was greeting a real friend. Right there, I felt it:
my own personal checkered flag moment.
That’s when I knew this banner wasn’t just cute — it was alive.

The reactions since? Absolutely wild. I’ve had grown adults telling me they wanted to jump in like Mary Poppins themselves. My daughter said it felt like a portal straight into Radiator Springs. And honestly… same.
