Updating this mid-1990’s home in Greenbriar Estates included a custom stain-glass window and homeowner-supplied cabinets to make this gourmet kitchen a dream to use everyday. The family room hearth and custom mantle surround was a cozy addition, as was raising the sitting room floor to be consistent with the rest of the first floor! Enjoy⚒

*DISCLAIMER* please excuse the lack of hand rails on the scaffolding as we are in the middle of repositioning the planks for the painters!
•
On this current job we are: refacing the entire home with cedar shingle siding, replacing any rotten window sills, casing, fascia/soffit with Versatex to stand the test of time, and creatively selecting crown/panel moulding details that match the original character of the home and the other homes on the street.

The “flare” detail between the 1st and 2nd floor is always a bear of task but our crew was able to seamlessly pull off another perfect installation.
•
Every project brings different challenges but one of the greatest on this job has been working with the landscaper to protect the beautiful garden that wraps around the entire house. Constant care is taken to not damage any plants, trees or bushes that have been carefully manicured for many years

This is the 3rd home on the street we have remodeled the exterior with cedar shingles and it’s wonderful to stand back and see these incredible old homes return to their former glory! ! 🔨🔧 STAY TUNED FOR THE FINISHED PRODUCT!

Meet Matt Reel ⚒
Matt brings with him two decades of experience in residential renovation. Beginning as a painter in high end residential settings, he developed an eye for detail. Acquiring project management experience through the years and many home renovations, Matt easily transitioned to frontline supervisor: directing work, team members, and subcontractors. Client communications being a strong attribute of Matt’s, he has contributed to building long-term client relationships for Century Interiors. Personally, Matt is enthusiastically involved in his son’s sports activities and enjoys spending time with family.

This pool house was newly constructed in Pittsburgh, PA, and featured a veranda and surrounding courtyard, pool, hot tub and outdoor fireplace — all complete with sleek architectural detail. Small-space solutions were also leveraged to maximize some of the interior living and utility details.

Meet Matthew Mitchell!
After graduating from California University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Business Administration, Matt ran his family’s restaurant for two years while renovating and leasing out offices downtown. He moved on to join Century Interiors and pursue what he loved to do most, high end remodeling. Matt joined Century’s team in 2016 and brought with him a systematic approach that allows him to yield a very organized, effective workflow. He removes inefficiencies on the job while constantly empowering himself to settle for nothing short of perfection. After a good day, Matt enjoys playing guitar, rock climbing and being active with his dog, Levi. 🎸🐶🔨
