Camp Copeland Studio Camp Copeland Studio handcrafts mindful home goods and decor in glass, wool and a series of block prints to help you live well with fewer better things.

Camp Copeland Studio (c.2015) is the collaborative creative lab and production studio of Drew and Alyssa Kail. They make contemporary home goods and personal accessories, primarily in glass and wool, though they love to experiment with new designs and play with new materials. Custom work inquiries are also welcome. Inspired by mid-century modern aesthetics with a modern twist and a good pop of co

lor, all of their pieces are handcrafted to the highest quality standard at their shop in Braddock, PA.

We strongly believe that creating mindfully matters. That is why we are always focused on reducing the carbon footprint of our studio. One way that we do this is to turn left over pieces of glass from our bigger projects into elegant fused glass pendants. Since each pendant comes from sheets of glass that we design in our studio, each pendant is one of a kind. Want a timeless accent or a thoughtful gift? Visit our studio online to explore the collection of our fused glass pendants and jewelry. https://wix.to/tZvkxVl

For us, the act of carving a linocut or woodcut print is just as satisfying as the printing process. Working in reverse with chisels to remove material in order to create an image is an exercise in mindfulness and intentional action. Making marks that will become inked and un-inked space in the finished image. Our black and white Sfären linocuts are inspired by balance, not only in composition and color, but in lifestyle as well. Sfären translates to "the sphere" in Swedish. Each print in our Sfären series of linocut prints focuses on a sphere in a state of balance with it's surroundings. This print, "I Centrum" depicts a sphere balanced on top of a platform that is stacked on top on a series of horizontal and vertical posts. Balance is often difficult to achieve, but is always worth the attempt. See the whole collection in our print gallery:

We're back behind the scenes with the other half to Camp Copeland. Drew has been a kiln glass artist and printmaker for almost 20 years. He handcrafts all of our spoon rests, soap dishes and fused glass art objects, as well as designs and prints our linocut prints. He's studies design history and color theory in his spare time and loves teaching his crafts. ✨🧵🏺

Step inside our studio and meet the makers behind Camp Copeland Studio. We are a two person artist team. The first member of our team is Alyssa. Alyssa has a long history in Art, Craft and Design. In fact, she received an MFA in Applied Craft & Design from the Oregon College of Arts & Crafts. Alyssa handcrafts our stained glass panels and designs/develops all of our wool and felted objects. Our small-batch process means we catch every detail, reduce waste, and design with a spirit of intention. ✨🛠️🌿

An in process look at our newest linocut print inspired by Drew's love of his Moka Pot. Seriously, ask him about it sometime and you'll see him light up like he just had his second espresso of the day. All four blocks are carved and we are ready to start printing next week. Seeing the printed image come together color by color over days or even weeks is something we truly love about the printmaking process. As you may know, we print by hand with a barren and not a press making each print handmade from start to finish. Any moka pot lovers out there? post in the comments! ☕😃❤️

We’re sharing three simple vignettes that prove less really can be more. Slide 1: Linocut Block Print — the black and white pattern and texture of the print pair well with the sage colored wall and green plant, creating a space that is both calm and collected. Slide 2: Kiln Glass Bowls — colorful glass bowls add luminous effects and soft scale to neutral surfaces; they anchor the space without shouting. Slide 3: Merino Wool Catchall Bowl — colorful and useful, it ties your space together and creates a sense of place, inviting you to stay. We do not believe you need more objects in your home to make it a home, but better quality objects. Choosing fewer, better pieces creates a home that feels balanced, personal, and built to last. Which vignette speaks to you? Tell us below or visit our shop to explore more: https://wix.to/YPri3AI 🕊️✨
