Reframe House is now featured on Archello.

What began as the transformation of an existing Whitestone home became an exploration of how architecture can reframe the familiar—opening the house to more light, stronger connections to the outdoors, and a new way of living within an existing structure.

Rather than starting over, the design works with what was already there, introducing a contemporary architectural language while preserving the history and character of the original home.

We’re very pleased to see Reframe House published by Archello and shared with its international architecture and design community.

We’re excited to see The Room Below featured by in a story exploring how overlooked spaces can be transformed into meaningful places for everyday life.

The article pairs our project with Memory Maker by Sharran Architecture + Design, looking at two very different approaches to designing for leisure, gathering, retreat and play.

For The Room Below, an underused basement became a sequence of interconnected spaces for the family—each with its own character and purpose, but all part of a cohesive experience. It’s a project that reflects something we strongly believe at ss.mm design: good design isn’t always about adding more space. Sometimes it’s about discovering the potential in the space you already have.
