Altered Pine Hello! My name is Hilary Selsor, I am a furniture artist, and creative influencer. To seeing the step by step process of chalk painting furniture.

Altered Pine is a place you can find all the behind the scenes in the furniture business. From the weekly “Thrifting Thursdays” shopping at local thrift stores to find the perfect piece of furniture to restore. You will feel included in each furniture flip and feel inspired to start your own DIY. My goal is to provide my customers with furniture and décor that is exactly what they are looking for

and will last them for years. No more spending an arm and a leg at a furniture store on items that soon fall apart. My mission is to bring quality vintage furniture back into your home with an unexpected style that will complete your space.

When I was looking at this dresser, I was cravinggg a bolder, moody green paired with a rich, warm brown top… and chef’s kiss to this combo 🤌🏼

The antique brass hardware was the finishing touch it needed. Rich, warm, moody and just SO good.

The Cayman Dresser was given a *new life* updated in a soft neutral grey, while botanical panels along each side add just the right amount of character.

Man oh man, do I love a good challenge piece! I don’t take them on very often, but every time I finish one, I sit back and think, “Man… I still got it!” 😂 There’s just something so fun about stepping outside of my usual style, getting creative, and turning a problem piece into something completely unexpected.

Getting an all-wood finish is a processssss... 😅

It takes me about twice as long to complete compared to a painted finish, but the end result is always worth it.

Some pieces just have too much beautiful wood hiding underneath, and I can’t bring myself to cover it with paint.
