- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

These adorable fruit skewers are a fun, healthy, and festive treat for Valentine's Day!

Ingredients
Fresh strawberries
Ripe bananas
Optional: Lemon juice (to prevent bananas from browning)

Equipment
Wooden or decorative skewers (like the heart-patterned ones in the image)

A small knife (for adult use)

A small, heart-shaped cookie cutter (sized to fit inside a banana slice)

Cutting board

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Strawberries
Wash the strawberries and gently pat them dry.
Adult Step: Using a small knife, cut a "V" shape into the top of each strawberry to remove the green stem and the white hull underneath. This will emphasize the berry's natural heart shape.
Adult Step: Slice each strawberry in half lengthwise, from the tip to the top. You should now have two halves that look like hearts.

2. Prepare the Bananas
Peel the bananas.
Adult Step: Cut the bananas into thick, round slices (about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick).
Kid-Friendly Step: Using the small heart-shaped cookie cutter, press into the center of each banana slice to cut out a heart shape. Gently push the banana heart out of the cutter.

Tip: If you aren't serving them right away, you can lightly brush the banana hearts with a little lemon juice to keep them from turning brown.

3. Assemble the Skewers
