🌿 WELCOME TO YAYA'S ARTISAN COLLECTIVE.
Something is shifting here. This page began by telling the stories of Latine women and I will always love that work, but I have discovered that the thing underneath all of those stories is much bigger:
THE ART OF BEING HUMAN, So we're expanding.
I'm curating the stories of humans who share their artistry with me.
The makers.
The collectors.
The creators.
The thrifters.
The restorers.
The businesses.
The Spaces where people are allowed to be human.
THEY are The Artists, in the ART OF LIFING...
The people who see something everyone else walked past and say:
“Wait…look at this.”
That's me.
And now I have a partner with an EYE OF A TIGER, literally and figuratively!
Meet Angela. ❤️
She's quieter than I am, but she sees EVERYTHING.
Together, we're two Yankee-born, born-again Southerners on an adventure to experience art through storytelling.
Because we don't believe an item is just an item.
We want to know:
WHAT is it?
WHO made it?
WHY does it matter?
WHO is it waiting for?
Everything we curate here is looking for its next home.
Some things we'll find ourselves.
Some will come from people who simply have too much beautiful stuff and don't have the time or desire to sell it.d
Some will come from artisans who need more eyes on the work they've poured their hands and souls into.
And we're going to tell those stories. HOW?...
We'll come to your space or you come to us
We'll photograph them.
We'll research them.
We'll talk about them.
We'll make videos.
We'll let you experience them.
And then we'll help them find their people. Think of us as a little humane society for beautiful things. 😂
Everything deserves a good home. And I want Yaya's Artisan Collective to become more than somewhere you shop. I want it to become somewhere you discover.
Somewhere you feel something.
Somewhere you meet the humans behind the work.
Somewhere you remember that creativity isn't something reserved for “artists.”
ART IS THE WAY WE LIVE.
And maybe... the thing you're looking for isn't just something you buy. Maybe it's something that reminds you of who you are.
