Five years ago I moved into my very first apartment all by myself. I never in a million years thought that woman would end up writing a book, let alone a funny one, but five years of learning, unlearning, and laughing at myself along the way turned me into someone I actually like being. Today my first book is live on Amazon, and the old me would have never done it, too scared to step outside her comfort zone, too unsure she was worthy of creating something like this.

Pour Yourself First is a real 4-week guided journal for women, built out of the actual mess of those five years. Every day pairs a wine-themed personal development prompt with a self-care tip, what to do, an example, and why it actually works, not the vague "go take a bubble bath, girl" advice (they are fabulous, and everyone should absolutely take one) that's never once actually fixed anybody's problem.

There's probably a familiar fuzzy face in there that you may know. He has strong opinions about your excuses and absolutely no chill about sharing them.

My hope is you laugh your way through this the same way I did writing it. If even one page makes you snort-laugh at your own life instead of dreading it, I did my job.

For celebrating with me, your first month of our private Sip, Savor & Nourish community is included in the purchase of your journal ($27 value).

Thank you to my besties Kira McCoy & Kaye Kennedy for all your support and mentorship - I love you both! Also thank you Cochran Keating for leading the way to show us that we still have a lot to share with this world.

Please share this post so that your friends who need to pour more into themselves can see it.

🚨 Breaking News... 🍷

You do not have to earn a glass of wine.

Or a night for yourself.

Or permission to put your own name somewhere near the top of your to-do list.

Crazy concept, I know. 😏

People think Sip, Savor & Nourish is about recipes and wine.
And don't get me wrong... we love both.

But the best thing we serve?

✨ Encouragement.

✨ Laughter.

✨ Real conversations.

✨ Women who celebrate your wins, remind you you're not crazy, and lovingly tell you to stop putting yourself last.

Yes, we have monthly live gatherings and fun challenges.
But what we're really creating is something every woman deserves...

A place where you can show up exactly as you are.

A place where you'll be reminded that your dreams, your peace, and your happiness matter too.

Because life is simply better when you don't have to do it alone.
So if you've been looking for your people...

Pull up a chair. Pour yourself something you love.

We'll save you a seat. 🍷

The shirt says Group Therapy. The glass says we already started. The face says why haven't you come to find out what you've been missing. 😏🍷

This is my version of group therapy. Nobody lays on a couch. The treatment plan always includes wine. And the women inside are absolutely not sorry about any of it.

It's called Sip, Savor & Nourish and girl. I know you've been curious.
The glass is full. The women are waiting. And the only thing standing between you and your people is one tiny little comment.

She was never going to be a black hat kind of woman. She didn't stand out on purpose. She just stopped hiding on purpose.

I spent most of my life trying to look like everybody else in the room. Same opinions. Same pace. Same smile that said I'm fine, everything's fine, we're all fine here.

And honestly? I was good at it. Decades of practice will do that.
But here's what nobody tells you about fitting in — it's exhausting. Because you're not actually resting. You're performing. Every single day.

And at some point performing becomes conforming. You stop making choices and start just going along. With the crowd. With the noise. With the magazines, the social media feeds, the unwritten rules nobody said out loud but everybody somehow knew. Dress like this. Want the right things. Age gracefully but not visibly.

Society has been selling us a script for so long most of us forgot we never agreed to it in the first place.

Until one day you realize you can't remember the last time you did something just because you wanted to.

The women I admire most? They stopped trying to blend in a long time ago. Not loudly. Not dramatically. They just decided that who they actually are is enough.

That's a different kind of courage. The quiet kind.

👇 When you see someone who stands out from the crowd, what's your first instinct?

⬤ Inspired — I want to be more like that
⬤ Curious — I wonder what their story is
⬤ Uncomfortable — honestly, a little judgy
⬤ Relieved — glad someone did it

No wrong answers. This is a safe place. Drop yours below. 🍷

*Honestly I have thought all of them at one point but probably and unfortunately UNCOMFORTABLE is the one that jumped out the most before. Old habits die hard but now I mostly get inspired!

WHAT YOU GIVE PERMISSION TO, YOU GIVE POWER TO.

Honey, I have been giving out permission slips my entire life and not even knowing it.

I spent decades being a people pleaser. Saying yes when I meant no. Shrinking myself so other people felt comfortable. Letting things slide that should have never slid. Accepting treatment that I never should have accepted.

And for a long time I made excuses for it.

They were mean. They were hurtful. They were selfish. They didn't value me.

And honestly? That last part was probably true. Because people who value you don't treat you that way.

But here's the part nobody wants to say out loud:
If I'm allowing it, that's on me.

Not because I deserved it. Not because it was okay. But because somewhere along the way I handed over a permission slip and never asked for it back.

The way people treat you is their character. The fact that you keep allowing it is yours.

That hit me hard when I finally understood it. Because it meant that the power wasn't out there with them. It was always in here with me.

And the moment I stopped giving out permission slips for how I could be treated, everything changed.

You get to decide what you allow. You get to revoke permission.

You get to rewrite the rules of your own life.

Nobody can take that from you.

But you can absolutely give it away.

Be honest. Which one hits closest to home for you?

A. I say yes when I mean no
B. I keep people around who don't value me
C. I shrink myself so others feel comfortable
D. All of the above 😬

Drop your letter in the comments. You don't have to explain yourself. Just know you're not alone.

So what are you still giving permission to?

I'm nothing if not obedient. 🍷🍫

"I didn't ride rollercoasters until I was 13.

Too scared. No way. Not me.

Then one summer at Whalom Park in Lunenburg, Massachusetts somebody convinced me to get on the Flyer Comet (Actual photo of the coaster below. Yes it's real.) A 65 foot wooden coaster built in 1940. Nothing fancy. No loops. No inversions. Just big hills, speed, and the kind of rickety wooden rattle that makes you question every decision you've ever made.

I sat in that seat. They locked the bar down. And as we slowly clicked up that first hill I looked down and thought...

WTF am I doing? (didn't actually say it because I was a good girl, remember. 😂)

And then we dropped.

Pure exhilaration. Every single second of it.

I have loved roller coasters ever since. The faster the better. The more loops the better. And every single time — EVERY time — I'm strapped into that seat climbing the first hill I still say to myself WTF am I doing. (Yes I actually say it now because I'm older, wiser and don't care what people think. 😂)

Every time.

And every time I drop over that slope and the exhilaration hits — I remember why I said yes.

Reinvention at a more mature age felt exactly like that first hill.
I lost some friends. I frustrated some family. Some relationships are still being repaired. Sitting strapped into the seat of my own life looking down I thought WTF am I doing more times than I can count.

But I did it scared.

That's been my motto ever since I started this journey. Do It Scared. Because the version of me that exists beyond everything I survived was waiting at the bottom of that drop.

Two choices. Stay in the version of yourself that was shaped by everything you survived. Or step into the version that exists beyond it. Both are available to you right now.

I chose the drop. Every single time.

The Flyer Comet was demolished in 2006 to make room for condominiums. The ride that taught me everything is gone.
But I'm still here. Still dropping. Still saying WTF and loving every second of it.

Do It Scared, darlin.

Which hill are you standing at the top of right now? Drop it below. 👇

And since I'm always looking for my next ride — do you love roller coasters? Hate them? What's your favorite and where is it? Because this woman needs a new coaster on her list and I want your recommendations. 🎢😂

Bonus points if you've ever said WTF on the way up and screamed with pure joy on the way down. That's my people right there!

Tomorrow night we begin. 🍷

If you have been sitting on the fence about the Pour Yourself First challenge — this is your sign.

Sunday May 18th at 7pm I am going live with the first of five questions nobody ever thinks to ask you.

Then Monday through Wednesday I will drop a short video each morning with your next question.
And Thursday May 22nd at noon we close it out live together — with something special I have been saving all week.

It is free. It is five days. And it might just change everything.

Pour something tonight and think about her — the woman you used to be before everyone needed something from you.

Tomorrow we invite her back.
