One of my favorite things about living here is that we can be running errands and decide in the spur of the moment to stop to watch the sun set over the lake. I love walking up to group of fellow sunset enthusiasts. People are talking in hushed tones, watching the sky turn orange and pink and purple. It is so peaceful and amazing, no matter how many times I see it!!

A perfect Earth Day walk along the shore of Lake Michigan. Look closely and you’ll see an eagle in a couple of the photos. Beautiful lilacs are in bloom and smell amazing. Even found 2 small pieces of beach glass. 💙Lake Michigan

When I wove these little beach tapestries back in 2022 and 2023, I didn’t realize I was manifesting our new life on the coast of Lake Michigan.

Our move has been a long process and a fair amount of work. But when I walk along the beach or watch the sunset, I almost have to pinch myself. We live here!

One of the challenges in moving was putting all of my weaving tools and yarn into storage! It’s been almost a year since I put my Etsy shop on hold. Looking forward to getting it all unpacked when we move into our permanent home very soon. I’ll miss our “little cottage by the sea” every day, but it will be so good to get weaving again! And we”ll still be close to the lake, so there will be many more little beach weaves very soon!
