The kiln gods have been good!!!

Here is one of the 5 snake vase finished!!!
(10% of the sale of the vases is going directly as a donation to an organization here in Pinellas that helps Domestic Violence victims.)

I hope this goes to a home that values women’s right and protect those who were taken advantage of the person that was supposed to be their safe place.

The snake collection means a lot to me. Shedding old skin to reveal a new stage in life that is meant for you to thrive on. A symbol of new beginnings.

Because, Nolite te bastardes carbondurum.

More photos from my shoot with Grace McCormack !

Grace captured the essence of my creative process perfectly. The light, the dress, the mood..

The life that we were given to dealt with was not meant to be endured alone. I found my love for pottery when most of who I am got lost in a season of my life.

A friend once told me “Can you imagine how many people have your pieces all over America?”

As an immigrant, this is the American dream. America can be a place to restart your whole life. You get to shape it in your hands.

Florida friends, don’t forget to vote this coming election. This is what immigrants like me saw what America can do for you. To be a dreamer and live that dream every single day. Let’s give and protect immigrants and their dreams.

Because of you, I get to live a life that was meant for me to discover. From a Filipina who never thought America would be the place to thrive, here I am, one of who you fought for by your votes. Thank you! Forever grateful.

(Fun fact: The wheel that I’m throwing at was where I spent months learning how to throw!!! Atelier St. Pete , another Filipina descent, gave me a life line.)

God forbid a woman says “I don’t want that” and walk away.

Ahh!! So many new faces here this month!!

So let me introduce myself again.

I’m Carla, the hands behind CareKare • Studio ! A St. Pete local and a potter by serendipity! CareKare Studio is a small batch pottery business, always handmade.

I moved in the states 13yrs ago to marry who I thought will be my forever but the universe have a different plan for me. Almost a year into my divorce, I found new love for myself and an abundant of love for the community that held me through the roughest patch of my first year being a single mom for the first time.

It is very important for me to let you know who you are supporting and what I believed in. So here are my core believes:

1. Pro-choice. I love Jesus and I am called to love my neighbors and that meant fighting for my neighbor’s right. Especially women’s right.

2. Human rights over policies and politics. You are allowed to vote who you want to, so let me vote and advocate for who I want to. Respect goes a long way. Love goes a long way.

3. Kindness is something we can all afford to spend.

4. Love is love is love. As a mom of a non-binary child, I will forever hold space and fight for your right.

❤️ I love y’all. Thankful for each and everyone of you.
