🍑 What if the most meaningful scrapbook page you ever create isn’t about a milestone… but a family tradition?

This week’s Restoring Joy Through Scrapbooking layout is one of the most personal pages I’ve ever made.

For Father’s Day, I wanted to honor my dad by making peach cobbler in his treasured 12-inch camp Dutch oven. As I scrapbooked the photos, I realized this page wasn’t really about dessert.

It was about preserving a legacy.

Hidden behind the title is a recreated copy of Dad’s original apple cobbler recipe. Tucked beneath the photos are additional stories behind the memories. Even the Van Sickle emblem hanging from the Dutch oven lid reminds me that family heirlooms carry far more than history. They carry love, laughter, and traditions worth passing on.

One of the reasons I love scrapbooking is that it allows us to preserve more than photographs. We can preserve the people, recipes, traditions, and everyday moments that future generations might never know unless we tell the story.

❤️ I shared the entire creative process in this week’s Restoring Joy Through Scrapbooking video, along with a closer look at the interactive elements and hidden journaling.

I’d love to hear from you…

What family recipe or tradition immediately reminds you of someone you love? 🍑❤️

🦒 Gracie has been found! 💚

Like so many Texans, I’ve been following the story of Gracie, the giraffe who wandered through the Texas Hill Country after escaping from a ranch near Leakey. I was so excited to hear she’s safely back home!

You know what my scrapbooker’s brain immediately thought…

This story deserves a scrapbook page! 📖✨

Then I remembered Stampin’ Up! has the adorable Silly Safari stamp set…and it couldn’t be more perfect! Even better, I realized the Water & Dotted Lines 12” × 12” Decorative Masks can create a background that looks just like a giraffe’s spots with a little blending. 🤎

Now my creative wheels are turning! I’m already imagining a layout with:
🦒 A custom giraffe-print background
📸 Photos of Gracie
🌿 Layered leaves and natural textures
📝 Journaling about the incredible community that came together to help bring her home

That’s one of my favorite things about scrapbooking. Sometimes the stories we preserve aren’t just our own. They’re the moments that bring us together and make us smile years later.

Would you create a scrapbook page about Gracie’s adventure? I’d love to hear your ideas!

Yay! Gracie the giraffe has been found safe! 🥰

Yay! Gracie the giraffe has been found safe! 🥰

"We found her. She's fat and happy... She had a 'catch me if you can' sucker's attitude."

Gracie's great Hill Country adventure is officially over! 🦒😂

After days on the run, the runaway giraffe was found safe Friday morning.

Sounds like Gracie enjoyed her unexpected vacation! Now, she'll be safely sedated and transported back home to Cedar Hollow Ranch.

Welcome back, Gracie! ❤️

Welcome to another Restoring Joy Through Scrapbooking! ❤️

Today I’m sharing a special 12” x 12” two-page scrapbook layout featuring the Homemade Sweetness Sweet Collection from Stampin’ Up!

This layout tells the story of honoring my dad on Father’s Day by making his famous peach cobbler in his treasured 12-inch camp Dutch oven. The recipe may have been for apple cobbler, but the tradition was always about much more than dessert. It was about gathering around the table, making memories, and carrying family traditions from one generation to the next.

I’ll share how I created this layout using patterned papers, embossing, Flip Flaps, and interactive journaling to preserve both the photos and the story behind them.

Whether you’re documenting Father’s Day, family recipes, camping memories, or treasured heirlooms, I hope this project inspires you to preserve the stories that matter most.

✨ Featured Products:
• Homemade Sweetness Sweet Collection
• Homemade Sweetness Stamp Set & Dies
• Flip Flaps
• Stampin’ Up! cardstock, Designer Series Paper & embellishments

💛 Remember… the memories are important, but the stories behind them are what future generations will treasure most.

Sometimes the best stories need just a little more time. 💛

Today’s Father’s Day scrapbook layout has turned into something much more meaningful than I expected. As I’ve been documenting memories of making peach cobbler in my dad’s 12-inch Dutch oven, I realized I don’t want to rush this page just to meet the clock.

Instead, I’m giving it the time it deserves.

🍑 Restoring Joy Through Scrapbooking has been moved to tomorrow (Friday) at 10:00 a.m. Central.

I can’t wait to share this layout with you. It includes family memories, my dad’s Dutch oven, homemade peach cobbler, and a reminder that some traditions are worth preserving one page at a time.

Thank you for giving me the grace to let this story simmer just a little longer. I think it’s going to be worth the wait. ❤️

See you tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.!

BREAKING NEWS… Gracie has been spotted! 🦒😂

If you’ve missed the story, Gracie is the young giraffe that’s been roaming the Texas Hill Country after escaping from a ranch near Leakey. Texans have been keeping their eyes peeled for her, and social media has been full of “sightings.”

Well…I think I found her. 🤣

Apparently, she wandered into my craft studio because she heard I had plenty of paper leaves, cardstock, and creative inspiration waiting for her. 🌿✂️

Praying the real Gracie is found safe soon. Until then, we’ll just pretend she’s helping me choose my next Stampin’ Up! project. 💕🦒

✨ Stampin’ Fancy Friday Design Team | Inspired by Water Challenge ✨

This month, the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Design Team is diving into our Inspired by Water Challenge, and I was inspired by this playful summer memory from June 2019. ☀️💦 Bevyn and her cousin Mason spent the afternoon splashing, floating, and laughing in their grandparents’ pool, creating the kind of carefree moments that define summer.

For my layout, I used the Beach Time Scrapbooking Workshop Kit paired with Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Petunia Pop, Strawberry Slush, Summer Splash, and Timid Tiger to capture the bright energy of a sunny pool day. Diagonal water-patterned panels create movement across the page, while layered die cuts, tags, dimension, and pops of shimmer help bring this fun-filled summer story to life.

What memories come to mind when you think of water? 🌊☀️🏖️

This scrapbook page holds such a personal story for me. 🌿

For this month’s Restoring Joy Sketch Challenge, I used the June sketch to create a 12” x 12” page about my favorite scripture, Hebrews 11:1.

The title is My LIFE Verse, and this page became a place to document faith, healing, and learning to move forward in God’s will when I cannot see the full road ahead.

One of the most meaningful pieces on the page is a photo of an older Close To My Heart stamp from my collection. I believe I purchased it sometime between 2001 and 2003, and 2003 is the year I was born again and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

That makes this little stamp feel like part of my faith story. Something tucked away in my craft room for years now connects so beautifully to the scripture that continues to anchor my heart.

I used the Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!®, and the bicycle pattern felt especially fitting. To me, it represents moving forward slowly, finding balance, and trusting the road ahead.

I also added a hidden journaling flip-up banner because some stories are meaningful, but not everything needs to be visible at first glance. Sometimes the page shows the beauty, and the hidden journaling holds the tender heart of the story.

This is why I love scrapbooking. It helps me remember not just what happened, but what God is doing in the middle of it.

Do you have a favorite scripture, phrase, or life verse you would love to document on a scrapbook page someday?

Creating with Jesus, crafting with joy.

In today’s video, I’m creating a faith-based 12x12 scrapbook layout inspired by my favorite scripture, Hebrews 11:1.

This page is called My LIFE Verse, and it documents a personal part of my faith story using the June Restoring Joy Sketch Challenge with Pamela and the Waterside Retreat Suite Collection from Stampin’ Up!®.

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” This verse has been especially meaningful to me in a season of healing, slowing down, and learning to move forward in God’s will by faith.

For this scrapbook page, I’m using the June sketch as my starting point and adding a hidden journaling flip-up banner. The bicycle Designer Series Paper felt perfect for this layout because it represents moving forward slowly, finding balance, and trusting the road ahead.

I’m also including a photo of an older Close To My Heart stamp from my collection with Hebrews 11:1 wording. I believe I purchased this stamp sometime between 2001 and 2003, and 2003 is the year I was born again and accepted Christ. That makes this little stamp feel like a meaningful piece of my faith story.
