Extraño a todas mis abuelas, las que conocí en vida pero ya no están físicamente y las que nunca conocí, ni siquiera sus nombres. Las honro y agradezco por su fortaleza, por su valentía y fiereza, las honro y les agradezco. Soy parte de su esencia, soy parte de su esencia. Las extraño y las siento en mí, dentro de mí. A todas ustedes, abuelitas, presencias ancestrales.

When I'm working the clay, I have to feel it. What is this feeling? Why I have to wait until I am ready physically and emotionally to wrap my hands inside the barro, the clay? It is when the time comes to me to be a recipient, It is an energy that fills me and gets into the core of my soul and then, push me to work and not to worry about the out come. Bless the work of our hands.

I love to make and paint hearts because they give the opportunity to express different emotions. Upside down heart means emptiness and making room for new feelings.
