‘12 PARTS CHAIR’
Graduation from architecture school…early 90s recession…no one hiring. I spent my time in the school woodshop developing what would ultimately be this chair and the first piece of the ‘ERECTIONS Collection’. I had no knowledge yet of mechanical connections so I avoided them completely. No nails, screws, or fasteners of anything type…just one 5’x5’ sheet of plywood. Now decades later it is still one of my favorite pieces of furniture that I’ve designed. -John

Meet John, whose motto is, “why buy it if you can design and build it?” A licensed architect and one of the founding partners, he brings his construction savvy to the firm’s interior design projects. He has taught architectural design at the University of Texas at San Antonio and San Antonio College. He designs architecture, designs and builds furniture, loves chairs, and creates sculpture which he has exhibited in galleries and museums across Texas.
