Geometry at its finest in everyday life. I was looking through our portfolio of some of the unique projects we have been fortunate to have worked on. This was on a ranch where a deck and a swimming pool were being installed. The tile used was a clay 12” x 12” D’hanis tile made in D’hanis Texas. We were asked- how could we make the radius edges look good around the round radiuses. I of course said sure we could. Then we go to the drawing board to make it happen. All the tiles were dissected angles with edges cut to make it appear rounded. I have always marveled at how well it turned out. I think they sold the 6,000-acre ranch so I was unable to go back and get finished pictures. I just wanted to share some possibilities of making the illusion of square tiles appear rounded.
