Homemade Pumpkin Pie Dog Treats!
If you're buying the Dog Treat set and want to make more treats when your mix runs out, try this recipe!
• 1 cup (250 mL) all-purpose flour
• 1 cup (250 mL) oat flour
• ¼ cup (60 mL) rolled oats
• ½ cup (125 mL) canned pumpkin purée
• 1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetable oil
• water, as needed
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, oat flour, rolled oats, ½ cup (125 ml) pumpkin purée, and oil. Stir until a dough begins to form. The mixture may appear dry, but it should hold its shape when squeezed. If it seems too dry to hold together, add water, 1 tbsp (15 mL) at a time, until it comes together.
3. Turn the dough out onto a surface and knead briefly until smooth. Roll the dough to ¼” (6 mm) thickness and cut with a 2” (5 cm) cookie cutter. Transfer the treats to a baking sheet, spacing them 1” (2.5 cm) apart. Reroll scraps as needed.
4. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
