The same goes for window coverings, and by this I mean shades, blinds, drapes, shutters, and all! This includes repairing problems, changing out broken cords, and troubleshooting motorized coverings.

It has been 3 years since my last post. Last year, I made the decision to move my showroom to my home in North County San Diego. Most importantly, I am still in business, selling all types of floor coverings & window coverings & doing repairs for customers on these products, including fixing problems on motorized shades.
In most estimates, I bring samples to you & this is working out well. If you need to see a wide selection of floor coverings, there are a few showrooms I will meet you at in the San Diego area. All window covering sample books I will bring to your home or business, & provide recommendations & answer all your questions.

As the owner of BSA Flooring & Window Coverings, I want to tell you about the recent changes to our showrooms and physical location that have been at Al Davis Furniture and Mattress World in Hillcrest since 1999. First, I want to say a huge thank you to Bob Davis for hosting our showrooms at his store for the past 22 years. Bob has now officially closed his store (though still doing some business online only if you need a mattress), and along with him moving out, we have moved our showroom and sample displays to another location.
Al Davis Furniture and Mattress World were at the same location for 60 years and had become a true bedrock of the Hillcrest and San Diego community. From start to finish it was family owned and operated. A true success story to the end, Bob made the decision to close it's doors and finally retire from business life. Bob remains an active member of the San Diego political community & has supported or organized many great causes to help others in need. The store is going to be greatly missed by many people! We all wish Bob and his family happiness and success as they devote their time to new endeavors!!
BSA Flooring & Window Coverings is temporarily headquartered in a warehouse with all displays and samples available to show customers and serve their needs. Business is as usual moving forward, and I and my associate Adam Rosen, along with Lana Shapiro, are happy to serve your flooring and window covering needs, as we search for a new facility. Many thanks to all that have been our customers & have come to know both myself and Bob Davis over all these years!

We are now selling Soniclean vacuum cleaners! Soniclean is Mohawk’s preferred vacuum for all soft style carpets. The uprights come with hospital grade HEPA filter bags. Small canister vacuums with tools are also offered. Contact us for more information.

Once again, our warehouse is filled with room size carpet remnants, & a few larger ones. Some will be discounted as low as $25, and we are highly motivated to sell these off to make more space. We have a few commercial carpet pieces as well ready to go. Call me, Bob, at 619-980-0358 if you want to set up a time to see them. One last note-I have over 800 sq. yds. of a high quality carpet tile that I inherited from an HOA that did not use them. I am asking for half of the wholesale price. They are nylon and a multi-color pattern. Samples and or photos available upon request.

A short post about vinyl plank flooring, what we officially call Luxury Vinyl Plank (or Tile). Its been the fastest growing type of flooring for several years now, and for that reason, there are dozens of brands out there to choose from.

For this reason, my advice is to get to know the product by talking to people in the industry who have been working with it for years. It originally only came as a glued down floor, and still does. The floating floor versions have become more popular in recent times, and are generally more expensive. You will also find "loose lay" versions out there, though more rare. Karndean makes a good one with very realistic visuals.

Know also that it comes in different thicknesses of wear layers, thus a $1.00 per sq. ft. product probably has a thinner wear layer, and probably doesn't look as natural as higher priced products. It also may get damaged more easily with normal wear and tear. Get the specifications on the product when comparing. And overall thickness does not equal wear layer thickness. Its tricky. Lately the 12 mil. wear layer has been cut in half in products to create a 6 mil. Good for rentals, not great for your personal home. Be careful when choosing!

Keeping projects manageable, sending email or text updates to the customers throughout our working relationship, guaranteeing the work, working with manufacturers should a defect be detected, and taking care of any concerns or issues at the end of the project until all has been done to your satisfaction, are this company's goals. The only thing we ask of you is to be reasonable and rational, and give us the opportunity to complete what we started. 99.9% of all people we work for have done so, and we are very grateful to them.
