Hidden behind a chain-mail curtain within KINDRED, THRONE ROOM transforms a simple passage into an immersive world shaped by mythology, materiality, and craft. Inspired by years of storytelling woven into KINDRED’s identity, the 900-square-foot chamber was designed to feel less like something newly built and more like a place quietly discovered over time.

Layered plasterwork, sculptural arches, integrated water features, gilded finishes, crystalline light, and intentionally weathered details work together to create an environment that rewards curiosity. Every decision was made to support the experience, inviting guests to step through the waterfall and into another world.

was designed around the contrast between raw, natural materials and refined moments of light.

Slate flooring, stone, plaster, mirror, and gold tile were layered throughout the space to create depth, texture, and light without taking away from the overall concept.

Our team partnered closely with the project collaborators to fabricate and install a space that balances craftsmanship, durability, and atmosphere.

Because every stage happens in-house under one roof in San Diego, our team stays involved from start to finish. That level of collaboration means better communication, faster problem-solving, and a final product that reflects the original intent.

Across seven Puesto locations, we’ve had the opportunity to design, engineer, and fabricate custom lighting and mechatronic elements that create a sense of movement, surprise, and place unique to each space.

At Puesto Mission Valley, that story comes to life through the illuminated host stand and steel rod LED light installation, creating an experience that evolves with the energy of the room.

Every location different. Every detail intentional.

Designed, fabricated and engineered in-house, this concealed underground wine vault was built to solve two challenges at once: create better conditions for wine storage while preserving usable space above.

The system stores up to 48 bottles below grade, where temperatures remain more stable, then lifts into view when needed. True form meets function.

We're honored to see Paul and Jules home featured by Dwell. What began as a challenging renovation became an opportunity to preserve a remarkable piece of architecture while creating a home designed for everyday living. Read more below.

“Most people would have leveled it,” Paul says about the home he and his partner, Jules, bought in La Jolla. The home, designed by a Frank Lloyd Wright protégé, had asymmetric lines, impeccable woodwork, and echoes of the famous architect’s Arizona home. There was just one problem: “It wasn’t livable,” Paul remembers. The home needed all new infrastructure—electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling. Thankfully, with their experience as designers, the couple immediately saw the potential and dove right in.
