What's the best piece of advice you've ever received? I'll go first!

I started creating with polymer clay because I wanted to learn something new. When I joined the 100 Day Project, I worked with polymer clay and posted about it every day - so I quickly learned (and took to heart) “progress not perfection”.

As a beginner, things would go wrong all the time, but I was always learning. Mistakes are lessons, and making progress is how you get better.

Do the thing, Make the mistakes. Learn from them. Keep growing.

That’s what “progress not perfection” means to me. It’s advice I got from my personal coach a few years ago and I’ve found that it can be applied to so many different parts of my life.

What’s a piece of advice that’s stuck with you?

Yesterday I attended Nerds Welcome Anything: Mini Con!

The crowd wasn’t huge, but there were still plenty of good side quests: my romantasy bookmarks found new homes for the first time, one customer built herself an epic earrings haul (4 pairs in one sale whaaaat), I traded a tiny clay heart for a crocheted one, and I even found fellow Dungeon Crawler Carl fans out in the wild (hellooooo crawlers).

There was Mario Kart, Naruto trivia, magicians, dancers, lots of nerdy vendors, and Bucky spent part of the afternoon providing emotional support to a very tired little market neighbor who desperately wanted to go home (my vendor neighbor's daughter talked chatted to Bucky for quite a while).

Smaller crowd. Lots of good conversations, new connections, sales, trades, and plenty of nerdy energy.

Market XP gained +100. đź’šđź©·

Markets are weird. Some chapters are exciting, some are (painfully) slow, and some make you question the entire plot...!

The last few markets had me doing a lot of that questioning, so this North Park market felt especially good.

Someone bought my very niche Project Hail Mary earrings, my weird little llama-who-looks-like-a-donkey found a home, and I did my first ever vendor trade: Hobbit door earrings for a Blind Date with a Book. 10/10 would trade again (thanks )

There were sales, conversations, puppies, and lots of little moments with people who understood the strange things I make.

I think that was the reminder I needed. A slow chapter isn’t the whole story. 💚🩷

And I’m very glad this one was a good one.
