Fleet Week has us thinking back to an install from a few years ago when the Blue Angels were practicing overhead and we had front-row seats from our client’s balcony.

Safe to say, we took a few more breaks than usual that week.

A little look back at this San Francisco project and some of the spaces we created inside.
{Cusp Interiors creates layered, highly personal homes shaped by color, pattern, materiality, and the people who live in them. A full-service residential interior design studio serving San Francisco, Houston, and beyond.}

A look back at where we started, where we landed, and all the little bits in between that turned our Lake District II project into a home made for a young family in San Francisco 💫

Wishing Romayssa an incredible birthday weekend and celebrating her 5-year anniversary at Cusp Interiors!

Romayssa has been part of Cusp from the early days of the firm, and it’s hard to imagine our studio without her. She brings so much talent, dedication, and care to her work, but it’s her kindness and warmth that make the biggest impression. She has built such meaningful relationships with our clients, collaborators, and vendors, and brings the same thoughtfulness to every interaction.

It’s been so special to watch her grow, both personally and professionally, over these five years. We’re incredibly grateful for everything she brings to Cusp Interiors.

Happy birthday and happy 5 years, Romayssa!
So lucky to have you on this journey! 💫🎉💖

Somewhere between what was and what will be.

Pieces of the past remain, while much of what’s ahead still lives on paper. We’ve spent months thinking through what comes next for this house. Now, we begin by peeling back what was to make room for what will be.

Excited to bring this one to life alongside Butler Armsden Architects and FORMA Construction - San Francisco General Contractor.

Hi! 👋🏽 It’s been one of those seasons where we’ve been doing more creating than posting. Between being heads down on some exciting projects and life moving a little faster than usual this summer, this little corner of the internet has been a bit quieter.

So I’m picking back up with a room that still makes me smile. 😊

Pattern layered over pattern. Geometry against florals. Tailored pieces alongside playful details. Individually, each element has a distinct voice. Together, they create something that feels balanced rather than busy.

Now, back to summer… and filling my camera roll over my Instagram grid. ✌🏽

I recently revisited my first project. One thing I’ve come to appreciate over the years is that good design has staying power. Trends evolve, but thoughtful decisions can transcend time.

This breakfast nook is full of choices I’d still make today. Swipe through for five of them.

Every memorable home has an idea.

Not a color palette. Not a style. An idea.

Early in the design process, our client shared a rainbow Missoni carpet by STARK that they loved. Rather than asking where it belonged, we let it become the conceptual spark for the entire home.

The stair runner became more than a runner. It established a design language rooted in color, pattern, and personality that echoes from room to room without ever feeling repetitive.

Every unexpected moment that followed - from the entry to the breakfast nook to the bar - can be traced back to that first conversation.

Design feels most cohesive not when everything matches, but when everything answers the same idea.

And that’s the difference between a collection of beautiful rooms and a home with a point of view.

We treat Powder Bathrooms like tiny immersive worlds.

The smallest rooms in a home often allow for the biggest point of view - stronger color, stranger pattern, dramatic stone, lower lighting, and a little whimsy.

A few of our favorites from past projects that fully embraced the assignment.

New project snippets.

Layered millwork, sweeping curves, impossibly tall ceilings, and light that moves across the rooms all day long.

Grateful for the opportunity to write the next chapter of this home.
