We had to make a trip to San Francisco this week for a little surgery so of course it was an excuse to eat at two of our favorite restaurants. First one was Copra for some Indian food, located on Filmore so just a couple blocks from our hotel (Enso). That first picture was an amazing dish recommended by our bartender and we need to have it again. You put the stuff in the lettuce with a bit of the avocado sauce. We also enjoyed a chicken and a lamb dish with appam, the bread stuff. We had a couple beautiful drinks there too.
Then we also went to Nari, located downstairs in the Kabuki Hotel (Japantown area). We've been here a couple times before. We first went upstairs for some super interesting and pretty drinks. The drink shown was like a dessert! This place is Thai food and they have one Michelen star. Really beautiful food, tasty, interesting and great service.
Oh and that crudo plate is from Waterbar. If you have a chance to go there, you should. They had an oyster special, 1.55 for chef's pick of oysters. Not sure which kind we got but you can't beat 1.55 vs. the 4.50 regular price. That was a good lunch! Well, we didn't get breakfast that day because of the surgery so it was extra good!
Another trip in 2 weeks for post op so now we are looking at where to go. It's quite possible we'll return to Copra and possibly our favorite sushi place to see how the new owner stacks up to the previous--we've been going for at least 10 years so we shall see.
I should add that the only pictures we took were food and drinks and one quick selfie which helps us remember where we were.
