When we're home we consistently have a big salad every other night. Last night we did home grown lettuce and a little broccoli with some stuff and shrimp topped with a home made Chipotle Ranch dressing. Not too bad!

Photo from 10 years ago which was apparently the first time we shucked our own oyster. We don't do it often enough for living right here where the oysters come out of our bay. It also takes Kelly 30 minutes to shuck a dozen, so there is that.

Loving the pictures from 2020 that come up in memories because we were really going all out with food during that time. So much so we both weighed the most we ever have in our lives! BUT...here we have Venison Diane (like Steak Diane). DIane the Huntress was actually Frank the Hunter. Our son-in-law has always been generous with his "buck meat." SO good! If you are gifted some venison then this is a highly suggested use for it.

On this day in 2020 Matthew made a Blueberry Cheese Danish. I am pretty sure it was my request because I love a good cheese danish! Of course he made it beautiful.

The 2 Cooks garden is starting to show off! We don't have a lot of hobbies--gardening, puzzles and food. Not necessarily in that order.

Five years ago Matthew made some amazing French Onion Soup for us and a close friend. As you can see, it was perfect!

The soup was richly made with his own beef bone broth and the sweet Vidalia Onions, some Brio bread on top with two kinds of melty cheese and the meat from the short ribs.

One of the things we take from visiting places like Belize is inspiration for foods. This is a Caribbean Curry Pork Stew that Matthew made yesterday. He started with one of those pork picnic roasts and found a recipe. It was a little spicy! But amazing flavors and perfectly cooked pork. Be inspired!

For those of you that remember 3 Foods restaurant here in Arcata...this is a picture from there 14 years ago when Matthew played music for a couple hours during the dinner hours. (That's him on the right). We loved that restaurant and went often and that guy on the keyboard was at his best at that time. Now his creative passion is cooking.
