I rely heavily on Wilson’s input when it comes to picking colors. For one thing, he has a whole different set of sensors in his eyes than I do, so he sees an alternate color range. Plus, it goes without saying, he can actually SMELL the colors, which is a huge advantage.

My solo exhibition INNER CINEMA opens Saturday, March 14 at Galerie Ariel Jakob in Paris, and runs through April 10.

The star of the show, of course, is Wilson, who appears in three of the sixteen large paintings in the exhibit. In addition to this one (Spacewalk, 48 x 60 inches), there are two paintings of him as a unicorn, as well as are pieces from the Major Tom, California Dreaming, and Show Me the Monet series.

There's a reception Saturday, March 14 from 3-6:30pm. If you're in Paris this month, stop by and check out the show!

Galerie Ariel Jakob is located at 28 Place des Vosges, 75003 Paris, France, in the the Marais district.

David is a U.S.-based painter whose work blends the bold visual language of pop art with a refined classical sensibility. Drawing from dreams, childhood memories, nature, and contemporary culture, his paintings are known for their distressed surfaces - layers of color revealed through wear, evoking aged frescoes and weathered billboards.
His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the U.S. and Europe and is held in numerous public and private collections. Before fully dedicating himself to painting, David built a successful career in digital effects, contributing to major films such as The Polar Express, Spider-Man 3, and Harry Potter… an experience that continues to inform his visual storytelling.
In this deep dive, David shares how he transitioned into outdoor art fairs and learned to sell work directly to collectors. He breaks down the realities of booth presentation, audience engagement, and the mindset required to thrive outside the traditional gallery system.
This episode offers practical insights for artists navigating hybrid career paths—balancing gallery representation with self-directed sales—while building lasting collector relationships through story-driven connection.
