A clean, well-maintained gilding pad helps prevent delicate gold leaf from snagging, tearing, or sticking where it shouldn't.

_Degrease regularly with a small amount of pumice powder.
_Use a soft, dry brush to remove gold dust and debris.
_Never use water or solvents on your pad.
_Store flat in a dry, dust-free space.
_Consider a separate pad for silver leaf to avoid residue transfer.
