Founder talk...straight from the heart...

This isn't the first compliment our products have received.

It's the first one I had the confidence to capture and share.

For years, I let these moments pass because asking to record felt awkward.

Today I didn't.

Its not about the praise. Its about getting comfortable being visible.

One tiny step outside my comfort zone. 🤍

True Story!

Today I showed up to a market with a topless tent!

Outdoor markets have one non-negotiable rule -
White tent top! That's it. And I did not have it!
I had the frame. The legs. The tablecloths.
The tent top was in my garage!

There I was. Baking In the California sun. Fully exposed. Me and my topless tent.

Several frantic calls made to the husband who was on mile 12 of a long run. (Today. Yes He picked TODAY for that).
Husband drove Fast. Very fast. Questionably fast.
Assembled the tent — something I find genuinely impossible — and left.
Not one word about it.

This Ended up being our best market day EVER 🤩🤩

A True Story...

The Day a GOAT Ate My Fabric

So I was accepted into the Livermore Bankhead Theater Wearable Art Show - "Adorned" January 2025.
Many Firsts for me - a real gallery. A real stage. A real deadline.
I had a design I was proud of!
The Fabric was sourced, artisans were confirmed and everything looked good to go!
But... then… I got a message!

"A goat ate the fabric."

Before you laugh — let me give you a context.
This is actually where the story gets real.
Kantha is a traditional South Asian textile art.
The women who make Kantha don't work in factories.
They sit outside. In their courtyards. In their backyards, with children running around and farm animals - chickens, dogs wandering through.
And yes — goats.

This IS the process and yes their art is made right into the middle of it!

So yes, after the initial shock, the fabric was refurbished, the jacket did get made and the show went on to be great!

But I think about that goat every time I look at it.
She's in there somewhere — in the story of it, if not the fabric.
And if you ever buy a piece of kantha work from me,
just know: Every piece has a story.
(This one just also has a goat! 🐐)
