There are few things that fuel me more than someone telling me I can’t do something. Watch “Coffee Break” go from concept mock up in first slide to final install at the end. Less than a year ago I didn’t know what these signs were made of, where to source the product, how to use power tools to carve or even what tools to use! I was met with a lot to skepticism when I said I wanted to start making beach house signs, funny looks when I asked questions and doubt in my ability because I’m a woman. Now I’m on a back order and building a wait list…Tell me again that I can’t.

Mom to mom I cannot thank Megan from enough for making my kids feel so special-particularly my little girl-who is an aspiring artist in her own right! Acts of kindness and support for women and kids in the arts are what really sets companies like this apart! Never in a million years did I think my compliment and obsession with these mini pails would lead to such a special moment for my babes 🖤 Shout out to for putting on such an inspiring conference and to for awarding me the grant that largely made my trip possible and is in turn inspiring the next generation of artists to find the nearest wall to paint-even if it makes them late for the bus 😂

Something a little different than the usual Timelapse. Just in case anyone is interested in color mixing or why and what I use, if not…that’s cool too I won’t do more 😂 Enjoy me awkwardly explaining (while saying “ummm” way more than is acceptable), mixing, and fawning over new & tiny things while looking like vagrant 💁🏼‍♀️ Huge shout out to and for the new cool stuff to test out and use! 🖤 For those interested, the sign product is HDU that I hand carved original designs into for small businesses and beach houses and the paint is All Surface Enamel

Understanding the scale of these signs blows my mind 😅 What seems so giant on the ground fits so nicely when it’s installed! I loved designing this mermaid for Gypsy Bay. These signs not only help with the branding of short term rentals but also serve as important way finding tools for guests that are unfamiliar with the area. High contrast, bold colors and visually interesting subjects help guests to find their rental when address numbers might not be the easiest to see, especially in beach towns like ours! The mermaid era has come to an end, atleast for the time being I think! This fine finned lady is headed to her home in Sandbridge and I’m on to carve the next beach house sign.

Another, littler, carved and painted house sign is done and off to its new home! My brother insists that birds are pack animals…we got into a heated debate over flocks vs packs when we saw a *flock* of pelicans at the beach a few weeks ago. Anyone care to weigh in?
