Welcome to the chaos! Thrifting and creating content full-time has been a 10-year dream in the making. Life threw a few unexpected turns my way, and somehow those moments became the reason I’m doing what I love today. 💛

Am I crazy for painting this vintage jewelry box? Maybe. 🤷‍♀️ But my daughter loves it, and I loved trying my hand at something new. I’m hoping with time I’ll continue to get better and more comfortable with paint pens and Rub n’ Buff, because the possibilities are endless when it comes to thrifted finds.

Do I regret painting this vintage pitcher? No. Do I regret the color I chose? Yes. 😝

This was my first time using this kind of textured/concrete spray paint, which definitely made it a learning experience. I was hoping a solid color would still show off the shapes on the pitcher, but it turned out a little different than my vision. 😂

Am I going to the bad place for using a Magic Eraser on vintage art?! I swear, my Goodwill bins always has the BEST artwork and wall decor. This HUGE painting only cost me $4!

I have learned a lot of valuable skills and lessons by thrifting, but above all, I have learned patience! Shopping at the thrift or the Gooodwill Bins has taught me that with time, I can find what I’m looking for, or at least find something similar to what I want or need. And it’s really helped me to not give into trends. In the past, if I wanted something, I would run to Target or Homegoods and spend money I definitely didn’t need to be spending. And that left me NEVER feeling like I had enough. Instant gratification is just that; instant, but it fades and you always end up wanting something else, and wanting more than what you have. Thrifting hasn’t totally taken those feelings away of wanting things, but it’s helped me to be better about understanding wants versus needs. It’s taught me to value what I already have, and to see the beauty in imperfections.

These shelves were SUCH a great thrift find! They are so stunning, and really add so much more interest to this space. There isn’t a lot of room for decor, but less is more. The Harrod’s teapot was the most amazing Goodwill bins find at only .50 cents!

When you watch my most recent Goodwill Bins thrift haul; you’ll understand why I LOVE the outlet in Flint, Michigan! It’s a much smaller location than Sarasota, but it’s super quiet and overflowing with all sorts of treasures! I checked a bag this trip and purposely left it half empty so I could bring home some goodies. Movies are only .10 cents, and books are .50 cents a pound! I went two days in a row and spent less than $50 total. 🙌🏻

The only thing better than getting decor at the thrift store is getting it for free! 🙌🏻 My first attempt at decoupage wasn’t great, but practice makes perfect. The pattern on these napkins isn’t the best for this type of project because it all looks the same. Next time, I think I’ll look for napkins with more variation. I had to overlap a lot of the tissue to cover the entire holder, so it’s not as smooth as I would have liked. Now, what to practice on next… 🤔

Am I cheap? Am I gross? Or am I just an eco warrior saving the planet one landfill-bound item at a time?!

Items like this are only .69 cents a pound at my Goodwill Bins, which means this oil diffuser cost me about a dollar, maybe. Thrifting for the win once again.
