While I love a more defined floor plan in my own home, that’s not always the right solution for every client…

For homeowners who love to entertain, an open-concept layout can be a game changer. The ability to see from the kitchen —> the dining area —> the living room keeps everyone connected, whether you’re hosting a holiday gathering, helping with homework while making dinner, or catching up with friends over a glass of wine 🍷

We’re willing to die on this hill: animal print is a neutral!!

When used thoughtfully, animal prints work the same way a textured fabric or patterned rug does…They add depth, contrast, and personality without overwhelming a space.

A touch of leopard, zebra, cow, etc. can layer beautifully into a room full of neutrals, rich woods, and classic finishes. In fact, some of our favorite spaces use animal print so subtly that you might not even notice it at first glance 👀

A little color goes a long way 💜

We’re seeing more and more homeowners embrace color again, and honestly, we’re here for it. Rich, saturated tones have a way of bringing personality, warmth, and depth to a space in a way that neutrals simply can’t.

The key is balance. When color is used intentionally, it doesn’t overpower a room, but it creates character. It helps a home feel more collected, more personal, and more reflective of the people who live there.

For years, many homeowners played it safe. Now, we’re seeing a shift toward spaces that feel a little bit bolder, a little bit more expressive, and a LOT more memorable.

One of the biggest concerns for this client was natural light 🪟

They were moving from a home filled with windows and sunshine, and worried their new condo would feel dark by comparison. Rather than fighting the architecture, we focused on making every bit of available light work harder.

We kept the walls and floors light and bright, introduced darker tones through furniture and statement pieces, and layered in texture to create depth without adding heaviness.

In spaces where we wanted a moodier feel, we opted for textured wallcoverings instead of flat paint, allowing the surfaces to interact with light throughout the day.

And of course, mirrors played an important role, helping reflect and distribute natural light throughout the home.

The result is a space that feels bright, warm, and inviting even without windows on every wall ☀️
