This lake house entry started as a design problem... and quickly became a structural one 😫
Originally, opening the front door meant immediately meeting a staircase with no proper landing. Our plan was to create a true entry, add a closet, and reroute the stairs.
Then, as work progressed, we discovered the foundation wall beside the stairs was compromised...
That meant rethinking not only the entry, but how to structurally support this entire area. A new support wall was built, the faulty foundation wall was removed, and a new foundation was poured around the redesigned entry.
