As an interior window treatment fabricator, historical treatments have always been close to my heart. There were so many fine touches that reflected an era of local pride in workmanship and a slower way of life.
As we work to protect our homeowners screen porches, historic homes also have a special place in our hearts. We feel that Weather Queen Shades reflect the practical craftsmanship that is so often found in the older homes.
This summer we worked with the homeowner and builder of a beautiful Midwestern historic home. The homeowners hired a quality builder to restore their large wrap around screen porch. Pete, our Senior Sales Rep/Installer, worked closely with their builder to assure everything went smoothly. Clyde, our son and motorization specialist, made a preplanning trip to the job, with Pete, to map out the motorization systems.
My husband Larry, worked on the hardware and even made a jig to assure that the three smaller end shades that were mounted on one motor system, were all perfectly positioned.
Marshia and I worked for two months to fabricate the shades. Candy, our daughter came down to help Marshia and me as much as she could. We worked carefully to assure all shades fit perfectly and back pleats matched across each span of shades.
Nyhus Enterprises of Chippewa Falls helped us custom match the powder and Henry's of Rice Lake did a beautiful job of powder coating.
We helped Pete load up his Weather Queen® Van with all the boxed up shades, tracks, motor systems and hardware. Pete and Noah headed south with a full van. They met with one of the builder’s men to complete the intricate work needed to assure a quality installation. The shades are all motorized and work with wall units, tablet and phone apps. Each shade can be controlled in unison, by each side or individually.
We are all rightfully proud of how the job turned out
