I am talking about…
This little collage is made of cut up encaustic monotypes made on my . Before I start to gush over encaustiflex I want to mention how i am in a profound study of SHAPE! Of course the beauty of shape has so much to do with color and texture, but i am getting naturally high off of the shape journey i am on. Ok, so back to encaustiflex…have you tried this “paper”? Is it paper? No, not by the traditional definition of paper. It is a highly absorbent microfiber, and it LOVES wax. my dear friend, colleague, and mentor brought to the encaustic world. She is an excellent teacher and fabulous artist. Leslie thinks outside of the normal tool box, and for this very reason…we have encaustiflex to play with! When i took my first encaustic printmaking class with Leslie at my mind was captured. I have been playing with encaustiflex for about 7 years. It still captures my attention, and i know i haven’t pushed it to its creative limits. Lately i have been cutting up the multiple stacks of monotypes i have created. IT FEELS SOOOOO GOOD! At first i thought i would just fussy cut rectangles and sew them onto cards. Well that turned into a deep dive of cutting different shapes and getting them to talk to one another. I find my mind and body begging to be in the studio to do more. 🌈. Anyway, if you are still reading this, THANK YOU. I will have encaustiflex to sell at the
Kevin and i will be there with our beloved baby
i love you!
