What would be a good way to package this fiber and display it in my booth? This is an alpaca/wool blend. Part of the fiber was dyed, then I gradually diluted the color during the carding process. The packaging needs to display the color and make it obvious the entire batch is sold as a unit and it should look better than a rumpled plastic bag. Ideas?

No new yarn, but stacks of color I encountered while doing inventory and organizing my wool stash. I made great progress, yesterday. Time to make good progress again, today.

I’ll see if I can get some great inventory pictures of fleeces, today.

I showed you the lock spun blue and green a few weeks back. Some of that wool wasn’t spinning very well as locks, so I carded it up and spun it semi-worsted. I love the turquoise and the sheen. I also packaged up two drum carded batts of you would like to spin it yourself.

Leicester Longwool lockspun. After spinning the white a couple weeks back, I dyed the rest of the fleece and spun this red.

Two colors of Polwarth dyed by Greenwood Fiberworks, four odds and ends mini-skeins. Three bobbins of natural brown wool singles ready for plying, one bobbin of fine wool with scraps of yarn carded in and some of the same fiber ready to spin.

I like this yarn!

For years, I have had customers asking about white lock spun yarn. I’ve done natural silver/gray, but this is the first white I have done. This yarn is really squishy, but not particularly soft.

I’m learning Leicester Longwool is fun to spin, but this particular fleece doesn’t hold lock structure very well, so there aren’t as many curly tips as I would like. Still, it is great yarn and a fun spin. I expect to have this available at Shepherd’s Harvest unless it sells out at YarnCon.

More lock spun yarn as I build up inventory for YarnCon and Shepherd’s Harvest. I’ve been told I should name the red colorway “Lipstick”. Given I don’t use lipstick, I wouldn’t know. I posted the purple and blue/green earlier. I’m in the process of plying the red. I have a yellow/orange/tan mix next.

More lock spinning. Not quite so bright this time. The combed wrapper thread is shiny. The locks are shaggy and textured. It will be fun.
