So blessed to be a mama to the sweetest girl. 🤍

This is a season of slow progress and interruptions. Of staying in the moment. Of patience and presence. Of slow days and long nights and wondering where the time has gone.

I have always had a driven personailty, and I sometimes find myself wanting to make more art, strive to improve my technique, spend more time finishing my website, create a more regular presence on instagram, build a business--go, go, go.

But there will be time for that later. Right now is the time to cherish each little moment.

It is now a triptych!

While working on these paintings, it was a challenge to keep it loose and semi-abstract, but I am really happy with the final result. I want to keep working on this style, so my next project will be some smaller companion pieces!

A little experimentation 🧪⚗

Today I played with hand-finishing my test prints to see how each paper type takes fresh paint before I make my ultimate decision and order a batch.

While the base design would remain the same, each print would be embellished by hand, making it one of a kind!

A horse, but make it galaxy 🐎🌌

Silver leaf was the winner, so here he is! As an artist, I sometimes struggle to know when a piece is finished (is it ever, really?). He may get another layer of paint to punch up the color...we will see. For now, I am sitting with him as he is.

I didn't go into this piece aiming for a celestial look, but the wild mane ended up reminding me of ribbons of galaxies and star matter. What do you see?
