We have 2 very special geese today on their way home. This momma saw a video I made for our Wait for Me Goose on tiktok and the connection we shared was immediate. She deserves a voice and so do her little girls. Heres a bit of her story…
“My husband and I have always loved children and dreamed of building a family together since the earliest days of our relationship. Toward the end of 2025, we were overjoyed to learn we were expecting identical twin girls.
At 26 weeks pregnant, I had to have an emergency C-section after we experienced one of the most traumatic things any parents could go through, twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome had affected their little bodies. Instead of immediately asking why this was happening to us or what we could have done differently, my husband and I turned to prayer over their lives. This was the hardest thing that I had ever done, I had to surrender.
On February 27th, our daughters went to be with the lord. We are still so heartbroken it’s hard to even put into words. In the midst of everything, I’ve found a deep sense of peace in knowing that there is a reason for everything, and that even in heartbreak, God is still present.
It would be easier for us to question why God allows these things to happen, but I’ve found so much more peace in choosing to take each day as an opportunity to heal, and to keep moving forward with our faith.
This doesn’t make it easy. It’s a pain only a mother can truly understand, losing your children is something that changes you forever. But we try each day to focus on the present, to find gratitude where we can, and to hold on to what we can control. We miss them every second of everyday, and are constantly thinking about what our lives would be like with them in it.
Through this season, we’ve learned so much about ourselves. And at the end of every day, what still remains is the peace of knowing our girls are with our Lord and Savior and He needed them more than we did. Until we get to see them again one day, we will never forget about the impact they continue to make in our lives.
To anyone walking through loss or a painful season, I’m with you. It is incredibly hard, but holding onto faith has given me clarity and strength I didn’t know I could have🪽🩷”
Chills. Tears were shed making these geese because this sweet mama became very close in my heart-as they all do. Our little babies have the same birthday am that really hit me. It’s a reminder that there is life and loss, without discrimination. This mama radiants strength, her love for Jesus, and I ask for prayer for her and her husband as they navigate an unimaginable time.
I encourage you, do not be afraid of grief. When someone passes, ask their family about them. What they liked, their names, who they were. People want to share, they want to connect. As always, thank you for sharing a part of your story with me. I know when you lose a child, the grieve is angry, it’s aggressive, it’s possessive, I know it makes you someone you don’t recognize. But always remember Jesus will ALWAYS recognize you. I pray for my sweet mamas, and I love them deeply.❤️
