My Goal of June came and went. Here is what was finished my June. Walls, Bathroom plumbing, shower, kitchenette, and some tiling. We are slowly plodding along but still within our $3,000 budget. We will begin to move faster when I can participate more. The tiling was done by me with tile bought on OfferUp for $50. The showers bought on OfferUp for $100 and cabinets free from the side of the road. Ship lap was already in the basement we just removed it carefully to be able to use it again.

This is the bathroom with everything out except the toilet, of course.
Tomorrow I will remove more of the tile so that the concrete can be removed to be able to connect the new plumbing to the existing.

My handy and handsome husband and I have begun a new house project. Creating a semi mother in law in the basement. Mostly so our extended family can come stay but maybe to also rent out.
I’ve been talking about this with for awhile now with no movement from my husband, so in typical Bretney fashion I began the demolition myself. Now Ben has to come on board or suffer without a basement toilet or beer making space. ( how do you think most of the projects in this house got started. Poor Ben would come home from work and there would be a whole in the wall)
I’ll post our journey over the next few months. My goal is June.

As a lot of you know I've been refinishing furniture for a couple years now. I buy dated pieces at garage sales and Craigslist and bring them into the new century with paint and hard work. I usually resale them newly done up again on CL.
This was a natural progression for me as I've been doing this for clients of my organizing business for awhile. I love it. I listen to a Book on Tape or crank up the music and get into it.
I posted a few of my favorite finished pieces here. Sorry I don't have any befores. I'm working on slowing down so I can remember to take them.

I scoured for pics of organized front porches but I could only find decorated porches. None with any usefulness. So here is my front porch. A little bit of both. The bench is for sitting on or to set things on while I open the door.
Inside the bench:
One side has dog stuff ( leashes, p**p bags and balls)
The other side has some gardening stuff. ( gloves, clippers, and shovel ). Then I have an outside shoe rack for grubby shoes and slip ons when we need to take garbage out or something.
I try to make it functional but somewhat beautiful too.

I noticed I haven't posted anything in quite awhile. That's because I don't really know how to. My New Year resolution is to learn.
There are so many cool and easy ways to make daily life just a little easier through organizing. So in going to start at the beginning of your home and walk through every room with some easy tips

My entry area. About half the time my boys get their shoes in the basket. But it is still an easy attractive clean up.
