We haven’t talked about *scope creep* much, but it happens to the best planned projects. In our case, uncovering some shoddy wiring upstairs set off a chain of dominos that meant a lot of “phase 2” work is happening now. So, this is your intro to the downstairs, which I haven’t shared much about until now. Also, spot that movie clip!

So behind on updates but whilst we’re waiting on inspections I’m editing older footage like mad! A lot of the new framing was done here, but not all, and the electrical had started to go in but not wired yet. Still the new flow of the house starts to make more sense!

And we’re off! Before we could do a thing to the house, we had to get everything out of the main floor - kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and office. Not to mention two hardworking closets! We also wanted to sell what we could and keep any useful items out of the landfill, so we removed some big elements ourselves and sold on Facebook marketplace. I was horrified by the amount of dirt under the carpet. I guess despite regular vacuuming, 60 years of foot traffic really adds up 😅.

Next up I’ll show you the floor plan and how things are changing.
