At the opening for group show “States of Transition” and a few behind-the-scenes snapshots of the next series in progress. My hands are cramping today from the collage layers so I’ll be taking the night off from that process tonight! Ouch. Time to experiment with the next layer. I have the shapes in mind but haven’t settled on the medium. Charcoal, colored pencil, transparent cutouts, or straight to the wax? I will sacrifice one I guess and see what’s next. This new series is an interesting combo of planned and discovered. There’s a concept and a lot of ideas but decision points are happening organically as I go and can’t really be forced. It’s not the most efficient way to work, I know that, but it’s my way of processing a lot of conflicting information and shaping it into something personal without getting stuck. 🤷‍♀️
