I’m honored to share four original paintings I created for the newly opened Fidelity Hotel in downtown Cincinnati.
Located in the beautifully restored 1913 Gwynne Building, this landmark was commissioned by Alice Claypoole Gwynne Vanderbilt, a woman whose vision helped shape one of Cincinnati’s architectural treasures. Alice was part of the remarkable Vanderbilt family, whose women—including Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, founder of the Whitney Museum of American Art—left an enduring legacy as patrons of art, architecture, and culture.
As I developed this collection, I immersed myself in the history of the building and the elegance of the early 20th century. Each painting is centered around carefully chosen objects from that era—pieces that reflect the craftsmanship, beauty, and everyday life of the time. My hope was to create works that honor the building’s past while inviting today’s guests to discover its stories in a new way.
It is a privilege to have my artwork become part of this extraordinary restoration and to contribute to a space where history, hospitality, and art come together.
Congratulations to everyone who helped bring Cincinnati’s Fidelity Hotel to life. If you’re in Cincinnati, stop in and experience this beautiful new chapter for the Gwynne Building.
